Re: ATP 1000: Indian Wells
If Kyrgios has got the balls I think he does - Novak can kiss this tie break goodbye.

Gutsy, arrogant or lucky? all the above? Kyrgios is no Dimi.

What can he do against that? His road runner defence means nothing to that kind of pace and consistency. He's done. Aniihilated.
Kyrgiosed.
Kyrgiosed.

Federer has the game style to mix it up and pose more of a problem - but this Federer at 35 against that Kyrgios? I wouldn't bet much on it.

And I am unhappy I didn't because I wasn't home and wanted to go straights for Kyrgios. Shame.

yes, the future of tennis.bogbrush wrote:Powered off the court.
I always said that what we looked at as the "greatest" era (Djoko, Nadal, Murray and fed) will look very poor in a few years....bar Federer's legacy of course.

What I found most delicious was how Novak expects his return and road runner style to always work. But against that kind of power (Del Potro kind) - no defence will do you any good at all. He was completely dismantled. He lost his temper numerous times because he knew the game was up.

I still think he was rusty and not as good as last year, his first serve was shaky.
I am really not convinced by Kyrgios.
He is a slightly better version of Isner because he is more athletic.

Djoko can go lick some Palms or Cacttus trees or whatever grows nearby there, and be in harmony with nature.

Yeah, if only. I was playing tennis tonight which is why I was late back Got a few aces though. But they weren't travelling 140 mph and my second serve isn't 125 Kyrgios style.

Re: ATP 1000: Indian Wells
The Federer Nadal match is going to be difficult to call. Very difficult. On one hand, you have the fact Federer has improved his backhand this year over the last few, and has just beaten Nadal in a slam final - but then you factor Nadal is always a bad match up and will want some revenge.
I will have to go for Nadal, however. Because I think Federer will be saving himself these days for the slams. Nadal is always desperate to win so will shove his life on it.

They'd beat you with 10 metres to spare because you think tennis has nothing to do with running.

Actually, a tennis court is 8m wide.
And again, good players don't run. They make others like you do.

I didn't say that. I said he won't put his life into it like Nadal will - and that, for me, will be the difference. But I did start the sentence with saying it is very difficult to call. Missed that bit?

Except my serve is out wide. Very wide on a good shot. Get running!

Yes, Fed will give it all here, needs to do 3 wins in a row 1st time ever against Nadal.

wouldn't it be wonderful and poetic justice for Nadal to retire without solving the puzzle of Federer's backhand!

At one stage, I think that Fed must have secretly thought: if Stan can time his BH and hit it hard so can I!

One thing you always get when watching Nadal v Federer - is how limited a player Nadal is. He's just got one game plan. He's shit.

I think at this stage of the match (25 mins in) TMF would be dead and spraying balls all over the place.

Nadal has lost a step and it's far more damaging to his style than Fed's.
