ATP 250/500 Tournaments 2018 Thread: Rio, Marseille, Delray

Wed Feb 21, 2018 11:19 am by noleisthebest

This is a thread for B- list tournaments.

I know most here follow tennis because of Fedal, but there are still good players and matches going round.

This week features Shapo, Delpo, Fognini...

Judging by the scores, Thiem is proving he is going to be the king of this thread.

Sush a shame he ended up being a sweaty SBH grinder.

Rotterdam - Federer's quest for #1

Mon Feb 12, 2018 9:14 am by barrystar

Draw is out, and despite being WC Federer is seeded as #1, which is fortunate because the field is OK for a 500:

#1 Fed, #2 Dimitrov, #3 Zverev, #4 Goffin, #5 Stan, #6 Berdych.

Fed's projected route to the SF via his quarter is

(1) Bemelmans Q
(2) Kohlschreiber or Kachanov
(3) Stan (assuming he emerges from Haase, de Bakker, Griekspoor)

From the other quarter in the top half Zverev is the …

Has Federer Finally Peaked?

Sat Feb 17, 2018 8:10 pm by noleisthebest

In short, can he play any better than he is?

For me, it’s difficult to see how can he improve any of his shots any more.

He is basically doing anything he likes with the ball, only tired legs can fail him now.

6 in a row

Tue Feb 20, 2018 2:31 am by Daniel

Nadal never managed to beat Federer 6 times in a row... even with clay help.  Fed has a chance of it.

Just sayin'.  Thumbs Up

I spotted it while looking at h2h.

FEDERER FANPAGE

Tue Apr 23, 2013 8:17 pm by Veejay

Seeing that we have 1 for both Djokovic and Nadal,I think its only fair that there be a page dedicated to arguably the greatest player to ever play the game...

For those haters who still hate and doubt...have a look at this...but beware its gonna hurt so I suggest you have box of kleenex tissues handy..

Transgenderism and the women’s game

Sat Feb 17, 2018 1:22 pm by bogbrush

i wonder how long it will be before someone who has been a male professional “identifies” as a woman and demands entry to the women’s draw. As we all know, any man in the top 500 would stroll the title. Even Serena Williams at peak won’t have a chance.

We already see in other sports that this is starting to happen. It’s just that the profile isn’t all that high yet

Toni Nadal is confident in his nephew's abilities—really confident. Speaking on a Spanish radio station, Rafael Nadal's uncle suggested that Rafael Nadal will definitely reach the Roger Federer's record 19 Grand Slams.
"We will get to Federer’s 19, yes...I think it will happen," he said. "It’s difficult, but there is some more Roland Garros and I am confident other titles …
