Bravo to the US Open for finally getting a handle on ridiculous delays. Djokovic was outrageous in the final, routinely turning in 17 ball bounces while the opponent has to stand prepared to receive.

It’s cheating plain and simple. The receiver is put at a serious disadvantage.

All I hope is that the Umpires aren’t given discretion.

Canada/Cincinnati Masters Series

Federer's sensible withdrawal and Nadal's currently unassailable position at #1 deprives the Toronto draw of a lot of interest for me.

Djoko is seeded to face Zverev in the QF with Anderson/Dimitrov seeded for their half's SF; Nadal is seeded to meet Cilic in QF and Del Potro in SF - with a possible 3rd round encounter vs. Wawrinka or Kyrgios.

Probably the most 'interesting' questions are posed …

ATP 250/500 Tournaments 2018 Thread: Rio, Marseille, Delray

Wed Feb 21, 2018 11:19 am by noleisthebest

This is a thread for B- list tournaments.

I know most here follow tennis because of Fedal, but there are still good players and matches going round.

This week features Shapo, Delpo, Fognini...

Judging by the scores, Thiem is proving he is going to be the king of this thread.

Sush a shame he ended up being a sweaty SBH grinder.

Wilander: On Federer’s Balls, Beating Nadal at RG And More....

Mon Jul 30, 2018 11:21 am by noleisthebest

I generally like Mats’ insights and comments, probably my favourite commentator.

Not sure he was right to say Fed had no balls to avoid clay this season...that was pretty stupid from someone of his calibre...maybe he just wanted to make a splash.

From Tennis World:

...............

Mats Wilander criticized Roger Federer a lot in the recent times. A few weeks ago, commenting the Swiss's …

Tennis News

Just a thread for interesting and informative news you may want to share with the rest, too hot to ignore - too small for an article!

I'll kick it off with Toni Nadal's latest interview in which he claims that his nephew is NOT better than Federer and that ATP scheduling favours Federer, too.

USO 2018 Talk

Fri Jul 27, 2018 9:26 pm by noleisthebest

We’ve got one more slam left in 2018...and maybe the last slam in which we’ll see the big 3-4 all in their competitive prime.

Nole’s win in Wimbledon has poured cold water over Nadal’s quest for GOAThood, and Fed looked quite vulnerable, though I am still not writing him off.

Nadal is just a rampant physical beast, full stop.

At this stage I am not considering anyone else in the title …

I wish she would fuck off! Everything is designed to conspire against her. God woman, grow up and get on with it and stop moaning about how you are overcoming insurmountable odds all the time.

Djokovic's greatest triumph

I honestly believe this one!

Please give it a read.

The hyperlinks I put in there have not come through but the serve and return bits are true!
