Re: Roland Garros - 2020
Rafa will win the title by beating Gerasimov, McDonald, Travaglia, Korda, Sinner, Gaston and Altmaier.

So why stand back and run a la Nadal/Djoko and Murray if you don;t have Nadal's lungs? Very stupid.

Maybe he felt guilty and wanted to socially distance from Sinner? So far behind the baseline.

This altmaier reminds me of Federer.... Without a forehand. A classy player.
I can see Busta causing Djoko some trouble as he will make him run.

it was fun... put too much hope on Dimi, that was a big mistake.
Novak
Rublev
Thiem
Nadal
you went really risky with Schwartzman, I mean, he could do it... but lacks serve

Ouch! Schawatrs has been robbed of a point and therefore a game by the referee...very bad decision on a mark apparently clearly out on the ground and HE.

Good play by Schwartz seems time to time he has a little angry Andy inside himself but held it together.
Can Sinner wash off his sins for the rest of his life and guarantee himself a path to heaven?

Wow...his composure is very impressive for a youngster. Something we had not seen for a while.
The weight of Sinner's shots is turning a clay court into a gras court for Nadal!

Thats saying too much, but whatever happens, they dont belong to the same era, meaning, Sinner´s future wont be affected by Nadal

Here I was looking forward to Rafa facing Zverev-Thiem-Novak and what do I get? He is in the SF without playing any top 50 opponent, and his SF opponent is little Diego.

Lol Sinner’s level today is much higher than Zverev’s normal level. He’s 19 so low ranking but basically playing at top 10 level already.
Diego crushed Nadal in Rome. Conditions aren’t fit for tennis.

I am pretty sure that after the match Sinner was thinking a la Djokovic : "It's not difficult to beat Nadal...."
He knows he just had to put away those easy balls he missed...missed by so many players cause Nadal frustrates by many aspects including imposing his slow rhythm between points.

I don’t know why they were permitted to move it. You should have your slot, use it or lose it. Not stick it in the cold straight after the US. Do it dignified, like Wimbledon.BEL19VE wrote:Lol Sinner’s level today is much higher than Zverev’s normal level. He’s 19 so low ranking but basically playing at top 10 level already.

Re: Roland Garros - 2020
interesting about eras...sure Nadal and Sinner have a big age difference but both grew and developed under the same conditions, technology surfaces, etc...
Federer and Nadal grew and developed their games in very different conds, and because of that trained against very different players.
So in effect there is more "era" difference between Federer and Nadal than Nadal and Sinner.

Strange indeed that Wimbledon did not ask for an October slot considering that the weather in England in July can be similar to October.bogbrush wrote:I don’t know why they were permitted to move it. as much as I understand what you try to say, its difficult to convince anyone that 15 years age difference is the same, era but 5 years difference is total different eras.

Well its not the safest bet, but he could have a chance if Schwartzman beats Nadal, which seems not as impossible as 2 years ago, and of course if he gets to the final... could he beat Novak? for me it would be a huge surprise.
And bigger surprise for me would be Tsitsi beating Nadal at Chatrier.

I was not very impressed by Nadal yesterday and I agree that in his case he is over the peak. More so if he has to play more than 3 sets. Only a nervous Diego can lose.... But we know how nervous he is.
