Who Is Going To Win Roland Garros 2020?

On paper - Nadal.

Second favourite Djokovic.

Third favourite Thiem.

I am 100% sure that, all being equal, Thiem will again be in Nole's half of the draw and wear him out in the semi.
The reason I see Nole as a winner in this match despite last year's loss is that this year we will have a roof on Chatrier (not sure there will be lights, too). So rain delays which saw Nole play many a RG semi over two days will thankfully end.

If Thiem was to, by some miracle, be in Nadal's half, than the title is Nole's.


Not sure about others...anything is possible, of course. Zverev could suddenly mature, Federer could have an easy draw, not convinced by Medvedev for some reason...his FH is not good enough.

Interesting how in men's draw one simply cannot imagine anyone having a run to the title like Ostapenko a few years ago.

It's interesting that we go in this year with more than 2 serious contenders for the title.

Rafa is the favourite, but on their day either Thiem or Nole could beat him, regardless of the draw. Federer to go far and surprise people? You bet he will!

Answer to OP - Coronovirus?

It would be too funny if RG were canceled this year, Rafa faded away by this time next year, and ended up stuck on 19 slams forever.

It's literally old age people with underlying illnesses who have died from the virus. Anyway, it's easy enough to cure.

Not so sure about it. Cases might be so mild (in children for instance) that maybe all contaminated are not known, hence we cannot know the real death rate.

Yeah, more people will die from the consequences of panic than the disease. 

The trouble is that politicians can't get away with saying this sort of thing. In commercial life I have to watch out what I say and to whom, you say something like that to the wrong person and all of a sudden you're "reckless" or "callous".

Panic or not, all I know is that if it means Rafa is not winning RG this year, I take it.

Not worried about that, Liverpool would be deviated winners, no question.

The bigger issues would be how promotion / relegation is handled. That’s a £150m + issue.

I hope you are right about Liverpool.  What is their chance to win the title?  99.99?  Or maybe even better?  On the other hand, if one takes this route, maybe they can cancel French Open, and still declare Rafa the champion.

Way over 99.99%, in reality everybody knows they've won it and I couldn't imagine anyone - even City, who are the only team who could mathematically catch them - arguing.
