Basically, they've introduced this shot clock as a gimmick and nothing more.

The rafa fans will be back here later telling us all how Nadal isn't affected by the shot clock lmfao. There isn't one.

The time limit that isn't 25 seconds... or even 20, which imho it should be. On that front.. no he wasn't.
I reiterate... this isn't a shot clock. It's not 20 seconds, which is bags of time, and it's not even being enforced.

Well I watched all his matches and had my eye on the clock, and he was normally serving with 10 seconds left. Just unreasonable to compare it to what djokovic is doing here.Daniel wrote:DEC1M7 wrote:He was serving comfortably within the time limit lolDaniel wrote:The rafa fans will be back here later telling us all how Nadal isn't affected by the shot clock lmfao. Even though Delpo's BH has improved over the last year, it is still nowhere near strong enough and gives Nole a safe place to go.

Delpo still fighting and gets the break back. Things not looking too hopefull overall. Still, the worst case scenario is Nole winning - far far better than Rafa getting his 18th.

I never thought Delpo could win. He is too heavy for Djoko.
As much as it's ABN and D for me I would not mind Djoko overtaking Nadal in slams and H2H.... And frankly he deserves too.

Was going to congratulate Djokovic on another Slam victory, then saw his comments on Ramos as I did Roddick's. Utter scumbags the pair of them. No respect whatsoever for the officials. These tennis pro's (even former ones) worse than footballers!

This is as good as Del Potro’s gonna get. That BH is not gonna get any better. Against the top players it’s a glaring weakness.

What about your next generations Tenez? Isn’t each generation supposed to be better than the previous ? So much for that shit theory. The game hasn’t forward for around 10 years. The same three players that won all the slams in 2008 have won the last 12 slams. In between we’ve had 3 generations of total garbage.
Wasn’t Nishikori’s shots supposed to the best ever according to you? Oh yeah he was eviscerated by Screech again.
Your theory of linear evolution is a joke.
Bloody miffed that Screech won. Now have to put up with the most annoying fans (100% Serbian nationalists with broken English) flooding the Internet with their premature claims of GOAT.
And everyone seems to have forgotten what a cakewalk his draw turned out to be. His only real opponent - a one winged player.

Seriously just quit with the shitty predictions. All your predictions are way off the mark. You clearly know f##k all about tennis.
Get back to practicing your double handed FH - if you screech loud enough you could pretend to emulate Monica Seles.

Gotta say, I feel the same way. I feel bad for Ramos being thrown under the bus by all and sundry - I mean, what's he supposed to do just let them coach? Let her abuse hm? They're going on about other people making tirades but there is a huge difference between getting angry towards a person about an incident and getting insulting at that person - it's the difference between telling someone a situation is idiotic and calling them an idiot.legendkillar wrote:Was going to congratulate Djokovic on another Slam victory, then saw his comments on Ramos as I did Roddick's. He did the right thing and he'll be dumped by them all largely because Serena Williams can do no wrong in the USA because (i) they have no other tennis players winning stuff, (ii) her being both a woman and black means they have to tick the virtue boxes, (iii) she has huge power in the game and is backed by others in the same gang. Against that Ramos has no chance, he's just a guy who plays by the rules but for this he's not accused of being wrong but evil.

Re: Men's Final - USO 2018
Yeah, the response over the last day has been really poor. I haven’t seen one article saying he did the right thing, despite the fact he clearly did. I actually thought Novak’s comments were more balanced than most but he’s not going to want to criticise Serena - this is the guy who wants to be loved everywhere he plays and there are a lot of events in the US!bogbrush wrote:Gotta say, I feel the same way. The WTA statement is nothing short of deplorable, flat out saying Ramos was sexist. This is the guy who warned Murray a couple of years ago for accusing him of “stupid umpiring” FFS. He’s hardly going to accept being called a liar and a thief. How on earth is any umpire going to be able to enforce the rules against Serena (or, frankly, any top woman in future)? We’ve now seen how the governing body throw Ramos under a bus in a situation where it’s clear he was completely entitled, in accordance with the rules of the game, to act as he did.

I am so pissed off about it. Largely because these professionals are supposed to set examples and what the message is "hey don't apply the rules to me" he did the right thing. Williams could've easily done what Tomic did and asked the umpire to have a word with the coach if she felt that strongly against being coached. Her tirade was disgraceful and she's a disgrace to the human race. Most of my female friends are embarrassed having someone like Serena proclaim herself "fighting for equality" Djokovic and el tel not helped the cause. No balls whatsoever to call it how it is and support officials. Richard Ings on 5Live was spot on. Many could do well to listen to what he said. Most keep citing McEnroe. Difference with him was he took his medicine. Criticised decisions rather than the umpire.
Ramos won't have a chance. He'll probably quit sadly following this shambolic debacle. The sport is very much becoming like cycling. A big joke.
It's the American nonsense that's annoyed me. Justifying booing an opponent. The Ryder Cup in 2008 another example of Americans being underhand through booing! Bullying and intimidating. Classless bunch.

He's also brainless and plays a baseline game with a baseliner despite the fact he's huge.

Only Stan and Fed could win by attacking. But they did not win much compared to the road runners.

He didn't even try to. And nor do the others, because they are also brainless.
Tsonga did well at the net and isn't 6 feet 6. Del Potro is a very good mover.
Your argument may have some merit if Del had ... actually tried to do it and failed numerous times. You don't have an argument, because he doesn't. Anyone can come to the net after a 1st serve at 120+ mph or a cracking forehand. Saying they can't is just pure bollocks, frankly.
Del Potro is clueless. Cilic is clueless. Most of these players are brain dead.
Let's put it another way.... what did he have to lose? He's 2 sets to 0 down, nothing going right, his game plan not working... soooooooooooooo
Just keep doing the same thing? What?

Re: Men's Final - USO 2018
yes but again who can hit through those road runners consistently? Stan on a good day? that's it. And even him would need a great day and lots of luck.
That's the difference between players who use talent to win versus extreme professionals who built themselves a body to absorb that talent.
The funny thing is that Wilander was the ultimate rrunner of his time. Luckily back then conditions were faster and as fit as he was, you could hit though him. Against the Djko, Nadal and a fit Murray..it's too much hard work.

This former pro and great is also telling you you are wrong reg peaking!
And it doesn;t matter what a pro and great says....another pro and great may have a different opinion.
The facts (things you have to learn to accept) are that nobody is currently able to hit or volley through these guys consistently. We have not had a volleyer win a slam in 2 decades almost...so Wilander can talk but concretely, there is nobody who can support his theory on this.
