For the points really....but wasn't it you who said "remember 2010"? I was not impressed by Djoko today.bogbrush wrote:Is that Berdych prediction for the points or for real?
Frankly? 50/50.

Yeah, I see it similarly.
I think Berdych is a good player, good enough that Djokovic won't beat him unless he's injury free. It depends on whether he's feigning or hurt.

I see Querrey as a potential winner today. I think he is a bit more professional than the clown we have had so far.
The crowd might play a big role again.

Murray has yet to play anyone who takes winning points seriously. He really should have Monfils now.

Re: Wimbledon Day 10 MENS QUARTER FINALS
I consider exits of Murray and Djoko as upsets, but you never know.
Querrey is a strange player, he looks worse than he actually is. Maybe it's his hillbilly appearance.
Berdych usually fails against Djoko. So the question is: how good is Djoko really? I still haven't figured it out yet.

Querrey will fold.
That's what annoyed me about Foggo. He had Murray literally on the canvas and brain farted at the worst possible time.
Happens so often. Players are right on the cusp of getting the match on their terms and they blow it. So underwhelming watching an unconvincing Murray or Djokovic knowing that they turn matches on account of their opponents melting mentally with a duff shot or bad call. More so with Murray when you know a moth or symbol throws him mentally.

Re: Wimbledon Day 10 MENS QUARTER FINALS
I am not concerned about Djokovic's "better" tennis. More the fact that he is going to try to throw those endless rallies and hope to see Federer fade.
You could see yesterday the stats v Mannarino, Djoko sent 95% of his shots right and left a la Bolttieri forcing as much running as possible...without Agassi's pace though.

It was a schooling until he challenged unwittingly.
Beautiful to watch. Toyed with him on the baseline and at the net. See if Fognini had an ounce of focus or drive, he'd destroy the field.

Funny that some expected Muller to get Mullered by Cilic and he's the one doing the Mullering!

Cilic bouncing the ball 15 times or more here. Pathetic. Come on, Muller - send him packing! I can't believe he actually may do! After a 6+ setter too!

It's not over yet - but it would have been a very very brave person to have put anything on Muller after the way Cilic has been playing and the v long match Muller had.

Re: Wimbledon Day 10 MENS QUARTER FINALS
Cilic definitely isn't anywhere near the player a fit Del Potro is though. You can see he's lumbering... all that height and he can't control it. He looks dozy and clumsy. But he's capable of reeling games and sets off with the serve and forehand. But Muller is definitely a more complete player and he's handling this well.

Re: Wimbledon Day 10 MENS QUARTER FINALS
Muller still a bit tentative on break point opportunities. Had 2 good chances there.
Intelligent shot by Muller there! Low ball - something most tall players suck with - and Cilic duly obliges with a wide shot.

If that's everything djoko has to offer, then we should not worry.Tenez wrote:I am not concerned about Djokovic's "better" tennis. More the fact that he is going to try to throw those endless rallies and hope to see Federer fade.

I still think the court's faster than last week. The ball skid more. No wonder the more typical grass players (muller, querrey) are doing well now. So Djoko will not beat Federer with his defence. And Fed's better now to shorten the rallies than 2 years ago. I guess.

Well here it is. A tie break. Hard to pick a winner - but I'll go Muller. He's looking cool and collected and his serve is solid. Cilic does have a deadly serve though.

Fog has been one of my fav for years. At some point against Murray i said to myself: Fog is the coolest player ever to pick up a racquet. Standing there freeze framed (chin up, like a roman emperor before his crowd) and a fraction later hitting a crazy FH winner.legendkillar wrote:gallery play wrote:Agree. Great point by Cilic, but he was let off twice that set... first with 2 break points - then with a minibreak.

The man is a proper dude. He could literally hit winners from a sunlounger on the baseline!
He is by far the most gifted player I've ever seen. There was a rally in that match where he is just rallying with Murray and with the most minimal effort flicked his wrist and hit a FH winner out of seemingly nothing. I wish someone like Norman would get hold of him.
