I know two slams at 35 is more than anyone can hope for. But we can't stop now. Surely he needs to reach 20, and what better time than this year's USO? He is playing well and must still have plenty of gas in the tank.

Roger Federer is also the oldest Wimbledon champion in history, at 35 years and 11 months. Beating Arthur Ashe (1975), 31 years and 11 months.

Should be relaxed for the American HC season.

The clay gamble paid off.

Playing with house money now. Clear favourite for USO if he can stay fit. He's been a better player on medium fast HCs than any other surface for about five years now. Should also see the return of the neo BH  Big Grin

Unbelievable match, hard fought to the very end. Couldn't pick a winner til the last point was played. Sampras will be thrilled for Federer. Now he is only 2 away from Nadal.

This match is proof that Federer should have played the clay season. With that practice he'd have more points and have won without having to make it so close.

Greetings from rose-land...here everything is rosy!

I can see Fed's backhand in slow motion, I can hear a muffled roar from the crowd...

And the golddust from Fed's soles leaving footrprints as he runs into sunset.

And I close my eyes and everything is looooveeeely!

Hey, just received a really nice congratulatory message from Murdoch via v2  he's a really good guy (even though he is a Djokovic fan smiley ).

Says he doesn't go on tennis forums now but I've suggested he tries it here, I think he'd fit in well. Got a good sense of humour.
