It means if you get it right, you get 5pts.

It's amazing how guys like Lopez and Gilles can make such easy points. On faster conditions, They would be much better than the retrievers trio. It woudl not even be close.

Well actually Gilles and Lopez are a bit poor on the return side....So it might not be as one sided as I suggested.

Why haven't they started doing it earlier?
From memory only Llodra and Step kept s&v as their main as main style, everyone else was just happy to rally until Fed showed the way last year.
But in some way, I am glad we had a period of pure base-line, because it improved so many players' groundstrokes esp with these new racquets, so now tennis is more interesting to watch as many more players are complete.
That aside, I like Nole's AO outfits.

Muller's only chance is to take it in a TB.. he can't break Djokovic's serve..

I like the way Muller is making Nole think and play.
Nole nice and aggressive, he is different from Nadal who'd be just bludgeoning Muller's BH ad nauseum...

Yes but they are only poor on the return cause they have 1990s legs. Were they as fit as Djoko they'd be much better.

It's good to have Muller on the scene.
I read that he struggled with injuries.
As I noticed during last AO, many players have caught up and actually enjoying these comditions because of powerful racquets.
I like your idea from the other thread about heavy balls.
I deliberately play with old balls because they have so much less bounce than these HEAD balls monsters.
Now and then some people notice and complain

Gilles mouvement is completely inexistant. Gilles was the number one junior in the world....just shows his talent,....and how talent is useless nowadays without hard work and fitness.

Nice trick. The key is to have old...unused balls. Cause old balls are usually fluffless and therefore quite bouncy too.noleisthebest wrote:It's good to have Muller on the scene.

Not quite sure about that, he'd probably be the tour's Aggasi.

He probably had years of exclusive forward movement/training and just lacks that split second of explosiveness for lateral baseline movement.Tenez wrote:Difficult to understand how someone that good playing SVing, reading the game so well....being so clumsy from the back of the court.
That and not enough fitness. Look at Stan who has similar build - totally different.

Take a step out of Djoko and he woudl not have been able to break Gilles. Breaks were always done to some exceptional mouvement from Djoko.

Nole's got a great BH and he makes the most of current technology with it, he isn't even having to use it much today.
But, yes, amazing how Muller can rush him with such ease.

Nole's BH doing some damage now.
It's reliable and deadly even on the run.
Nice match.

Rao Djoko will be interesting.....but Nishi Djoko even more. Hopefully they won't kill each other for the final.
For some reasons I see Nadal's chances much bigger now than a few days ago.

I saw bits Raonic's matches, not a lot of difference, maybe a little lighter n his feet.
Did you know he switched to gluten-free diet?
Nadal...in an ideal world I'd love Kyrgios to take him out again.
Really look forward to Stan-Nishi. Haven't seen Nishi at all.

I feel a bit for Muller, he played some first class tennis. Hope he continues with good health and draws Nadal in the first round of Wimbledon
And again, can't wait to see Pouille. Such a shame he lost that match to Monfils.

Nole's half is quite open, he didn't look too convincing in Melbourne.
Who ever wins between Stan&Nishi is 50-50 against Nole.
He just lacks some sharpness on his FH.
To me, the final has never been less predictable.

Yes I think it is quite open......between the 3 usual retrievers. Nishi is the only one who can break this down. Allez Nishi!

What makes you so confident Nishi is going to beat Stan?
They are both chokers and I think AO surface suits Stan more.
It took Nishi 5 sets to beat Stan in USO I think.
Should be a good match.

He'll lose the first set but will win the next 3.
