Ok.
Maybe rotla or Tenez should outline the rules clearly when they start the game next time, I'm just a workhorse here.
Apparently a rather serious one

They just said that the 17 match winning streak that Rafa has going against Tomas is the tied longest winning streak in the Open Era.

30:00, Berd rallies with Nadal and of course misses.
First signs of not clear thinking i.e. Choking 30:15
2nd serve... No rallying, quick point t the net : 40:15
Goes for the FH - misses, still, that's the right way to play, long points are the deth of him
Another great CC FH bullet- 6:5

Fantastic display by Berdych, Nadal was way off his best, and Berdych was clinical.
Good week from Nadal on the whole, given his expectations, and he lost to my second favourite player- obviously I'd prefer it if Nadal didn't lose at all- but it was clear he was going to lose to someone this week and I couldn't have chosen a better opponent.
Hope Berdych reaches the final now, and I'll be so happy if he can win a Slam.
Long way to go for him still though.

Now I can happily enjoy the rest of the AO. I can now root for Kyrgios against Andy, for Rao against Nole in the QF, and for Stan or Nishi against Nole in the SF.

Rafa was horrible the first two sets. Berdych was playing well, but not so well that a top form Rafa would not be able to handle him. In the third set, Rafa improved considerably and started look more like his usual self. Credit to Berdych that he did not choke it away.

He must have totally blown him off the court, his good shots were so fast in the 3 rd set.
Pure laser bullets.
Glad that mid TB choke didn't cost him the match, and it easily could have!
Now that would have been a Shakespearean tragedy!

I was so worried. Berdych was looking a bit tighter and if he lost that TB - having had 4 MPs in the set - I do not think he would have won the match.noleisthebest wrote:Glad that mid TB choke didn't cost him the match, and it easily could have!

You're genuinely wrong. Nadal was way off his best, which I observed as did the commentators, and we saw that today. Against Anderson he made lots of FH UEs too, as I pointed out.summerblues wrote:He did not do it here, but he was doing heavy duty jinxing on v2 - he even started a thread just for that purpose.
I do not allow myself to jinx Nadal if he is up against Berdych; against anyone else maybe.

The Beeb is wrong about the Borg/Gerulatis H2H.....it's 16/0 not 17/0. I have not checked the Lendl Mayotte one though .
Great to see Lendl owning 2 of the 3 now.

My picks today were terrible. All wrong I believe....but the most disappointing was Halep! She played so terrible. She has points to lead 4/0 in that second set but lost 0/4 and then 0/6.
Unbelievable.....then Mahut and Herbert beating Benn/Roger Vasselin! Bouchard collapsing. I am left with Andy Murray beating Kyrgios though I want the latter to win!

Kyr being broken in his 3rd time serving. But frankly he has big enough a serve to serve and volley but stayed back....that was wrong v Murray.

Berdych will have a good chance against either of the 2. A real chance for a Slam final.. must not blow it off.. We don't know what can happen after that..

Just started watching.
There is something eerily mature and steely in Kyrg's dmeanour.
A born showman, as well.
Murray...well, same as always...scintillating volleys in full flow!
My grandma would play with more guts than him.
