Who Is Going to Win Australian Open 2015?
Re: Who Is Going To Win Australian Open 2015?
yes extremely easy for nadal.Autumnleaf wrote:Nadal got an incredibly easy draw, couldn't handpick it any better for him. Youzhny, Gasquet, Berdych, really? Djokovic and Wawrinka with a good draw too. Fed's incredibly tough, Chardy in R3, Dimitrov projected seed in R4, unpredictable Murray QF, Nadal SF, will be roughed up, should he make it so far.
But considering Djoko doesn't like the big servers....it has a pretty tough one.

Who is tough in Djokovic draw? Don't see any dangers lurking there. Verdasco in R3, RBA in R4 sounds pretty easy.

Federer gets Robredo Round 4, Nadal gets Youzhny R1 and Rosol Round 4.
Nightmarish stuff.

You mean because of Raonic? That is only QF, always going to be tough, unless he drew Berdych who obviously was going to Nadal.

Rao, Monfils, Isner...not easy, imo.Autumnleaf wrote:You mean because of Raonic? That is only QF, always going to be tough, unless he drew Berdych who obviously was going to Nadal.
Whereas when I look at Nadal's draw, I donlt even know his opponents.

If you knew who they were you'd realise what a nightmare this is for Rafito.Tenez wrote:Rao, Monfils, Isner...not easy, imo.Autumnleaf wrote:You mean because of Raonic? That is only QF, always going to be tough, unless he drew Berdych who obviously was going to Nadal.

Isner, true, but I doubt he makes it to R4. Monfils is going to meet Raonic in R4, should both make it.

Vesely might even have a chance vs. Nadal.

After seeing the draw- nadal is in the final unless murray gets past fed and kicks nadals butt, otherwise another djoko/ nadal final where djoko will absolutely destroy nadal.
Amri delusion aside- which is truly disturbing stuff if he actually believes it- this is a hand picked gimme to nadal to get him into second week, shake off the rust and make the final. An absolute joke.

Well, chances are that Fed will be taken out by Chardy, surely would be a disservice to Nadal there. Seriously, seeing that draw makes me want to quit watching that sport - seems rotten to the core.

Easy for Rafa, hard one for Roger, ordinary one for Nole.
Expecting Rafa vs Nole final out of this, unless Rafa is really out of form or unless Andy somehow manages to make the SF and take him out there.

Still expecting Nole to win it all. However, maybe my take on it has changed from "hoping to be wrong" to "hoping to be right".

BTW, absolutely horrible draw for Dimi - he is seeded to play Murray-Roger-Rafa-Nole from R4 through to the final.

Re: Who Is Going To Win Australian Open 2015?
Well for a player ranked as Dimi is, its expected, isn't it? And this is how it works. All of these Murray-Roger-Nadal-Djokovic were once ranked out of top-100.summerblues wrote:BTW, absolutely horrible draw for Dimi - he is seeded to play Murray-Roger-Rafa-Nole from R4 through to the final.
If he wants to be a top guy he needs to displace who are already at the top. If he can't do it, then he only belongs to where he is currently.

Draw is fine, but we never know how would it actually turn out to be. Who thought the USopen 2014 final will be between Nishikori and Cilic with them winning over Djokovic and Fed in semis?

Whoever was going to have Birdych would have the lucky draw but having Berdych and all the other clowns is really weird!...again!

Some really cool first round matches!
Agut-Thiem
Monfils-Puille
Troicki-Vesely
Kokkinakis-Gulbis
Chardy-Coric
Delpo-JJ
They may be some more once we get the qualifiers.

Re: Who Is Going To Win Australian Open 2015?
Nadal on AO favourites:
"Q. Who do you think is the favorite for the tournament?
RAFAEL NADAL: You know the same like me who is the favorite for the tournament. I think everybody thinks the same names. Novak finished the season great. He is a fantastic player. He's in his favorite surface. Roger is the same story. Had a great season last year. He finished well. Plays in his favorite surface, or one of his favorites, grass and here. And Andy I think is playing well. We'll see. The rest always are there. There is a few more players that always going to have the chances. But between these three names, it's a big chance.
Q. Four names, your name?
RAFAEL NADAL: No, I don't consider myself one of the favorites here. Last year, yes. This year is a different story. Would be lying if I say I feel that I am ready to win today. I don't feel myself ready to win the tournament here today. If I am here in a press conference in one week, maybe I will say another thing because will have the feeling that I will play few matches, and if I'm able to win that couple of matches, then probably I will have little bit more rhythm, I will have more confidence. But in theory, playing four, five matches in seven months, you cannot be a favorite of a tournament that is not clay, is on hard. Is another thing. In terms of being favorites, the other names are more favorites than me at this time."
Did he ever say that he was one of the favourites BEFORE any tournament?

Notice, he says he'll change his mind once he makes the 2nd week... and this cake draw will get him there where he'll face a bunny in Berdych, and his fav matchup in Fed.
Youzny in the 1st who hasn't made it out of a 1st round in months, a qualifier in rnd 2... Rosol on this slow court.. Gasquet.. it's a joke.
Not handpicked enough for Amri's liking of course, but a joke nonetheless.

Yes his draw is a joke but I bet he will still struggle through as usual but will get better as he gets through.

Delpo out if AO, the wrist still hurting. I suppose he just wants to be careful, best if 5 is a bit tough for him right now.

He also comes with a fresh and well rested body, unlike Nole and esp Fed, and that is a big advantage.
His opponent in the first round is as good as a walkover.
He is such a "warrior", isn't he....

I was right about the first part....but most likely wrong about the second part. Nadal is on his way out!
