OK truth be told, I just got annoyed that I had to stay up so late to watch the French Open and Wimbledon; so I decided to dramatically change our time zone.

If you think his return would be where it is without a lot of hard work, you are naïve.

On a separate note, it always puzzles me why many people care whether or not a player is talented - it is almost as if for them the quality of play was secondary and mostly the means to discern the talent, rather than the other way around.

Apart from playing unwatchable tennis, Raonic has one more thing in common with Nadal: he is very lucky.

I do have to say I find both of these guys rather boring to watch.  I think I will stick around as I am home with some flu or something, but it is not what I would call high excitement tennis.

Raonic is boring to watch full stop. Even against Federer.

Not a bagel, but easy enough first set.  Nole looks like he could break every game while he is mostly very comfortable on his own serves.

They are both quite bad with MTOs, not really sure which one is worse.  Nole is otherwise a pretty good sport but he still likes to throw in a timely MTO when needed.

I don't think Nole is any more. It's not fair to tar him with the same brush as Nadal.
Nishi's pretty bad, though.

Nole did it during the Wimbledon final at a pretty crucial stage of the match.

This is what lets Nole down: 3:0 up in the set and starting to be casual with returning.
He has lost many a set & made life difficult for himself like that.
But I don't blame him.

I have seen Rao's first smile ever at the final presentation. Not sure he feels any emotions, that is.

I don;t find Rao's game boring at all. I just wish he could pull more winners though, more aces too. He is a good contrast to what we have and I wish he had won today as that would have left Fed with a bit more chance for number 1. Now the race is over.

Only rubbish tickets left, all gone to resellers, not sure if they will be releasing more tickets on the day/the day before daily order of play as they always used to.

Do you know if any extra tickets will again be released on the day...best ones have almost all been sold out, so annoying.

Hmm I don't know. Do they usually do that? Is it just the really high ones that are left? As in, the ones you get vertigo from. Shame if that's so.

Yes...I haven't been able to find any decent tickets. Final,SF and many other sessions sold out already.
Decent for me is lower part of lower tier, first 10-12 rows max, the rest really is a waste of time.
It's much better staying at home, watching from the sofa otherwise.

I want to see Fed from close up so, I'll try and get a ticket even from resellers, no guarantee of him there next year, so making the most of it.
Other than that, the only players I haven't seen are Stan and Nishi and would really like to see them both, I hope they release more tickets when the order of play comes out (that's how it always used to be), don't expect there will be much interest in them unless they are in Murray's group.

But even if I don't I'll live...I've been every year sonce it started and feel really fortunate that I was able to watch this generation of players at the doorstep, the timing was perfect!
I don't care where they move the WTF to in a year or two...

Saw the match repeat telecast today. Raonic was nervous and couldn't play his best tennis. But anyway he didn't have much chance on a sand pit court against Djokovic. The tournament produced some wonderful tennis in 2010 when it was real quick. Now its a roadrunner's paradise.

That's the problem with Rao...he was nervous reaching his first 1/4F of a slam, he is going to be nervous reaching his first Semi, his first final, etc....

Cilic came and won it! Hope he can do something in London.
