Lol. I love Fed dearly but getting yet again broken by Nole at a slam serving with two MPs at 40-15 I find it hard to feel sorry for him. If Rafa gets to 21 and Fed is stuck at 20 he can go rewatch those two points.

It's a bitter pill to swallow to watch Federer play the better tennis have 2 champ points.,.. and blow em.

He's been blowing massive points all way through.

Who here has any confidence of a Fed win?  I can't see it myself.  Two crucial tie breaks... then an awful service game from 40-15 serving for the title.  Nothing going right.

It wasn't jut a choke.  He did some great serving to go 40-15.  The crowd then made him wait to serve and shouting out during it.  That doesn't help.

2nd time on serve 2010 USO was 15-40 Nole serving.

Come on. He's had the same kind of noise serving out for other Slams. 

He bottled it. Charged the net when the play wasn't there. Nerves kicked in and he bottled it.

You don't.  But Fed threw it away big.  Rosol showed more balls.

It's actually a good thing that it can't go on and on this year...  definitely novak would win from here otherwise. At least Fed has a chance if he makes it to a TB.

What a tragic result that was. Fed had it in his hands and blew it. 

I know Ten you'll come here and state how Federer doesn't choke. He might hold the best TB record, but the fact remains he played 3 today and lost 3. Had 2 Championship points and blew them. 

It wasn't tiredness or even being run ragged. Just a plain choke. On the big points when it mattered today, he came up well short. 

He'll never have a better chance now to add to this Slam tally.

Congrats Nole. Well done. Fed played better tennis most of the match but in some sense I feel Nole deserved it more.

I think we all knew Fed was losing this match when he again capitulated 2 match points.  It's incredible the amount of times he's done this now.

Anyway winning on a tie break isnt a good thing and shouldnt have been allowed to happen in a final.

Fed has himself to blame though... he couldnt have thrown that match away any more than he did.

Think this is the worst of his Slam final defeats.

Hello nitb.  Congrats to your man.  Well done.  He was not playing his best tennis but he hung in there and did not let Fed takit away from him.

Djok didn't win it.  Fed lost it.  And it was on  atie break anyway which isn't even a proper rule.

To be fair, Fed did not really deserve to beat Roddick in 2009, so it evens up.

Agree.  Not from my perspective but from his.

I felt more gutted after W08, AO09, or even USO11.  But in those I always felt he was the one hanging by his fingernails (even if scoreline did not always indicate that).  He was the one who had to play above himself just to be competitive.

But this is probably the first one where I felt the match was clearly on his racquet, his game was there, the opponent did not present unsurmountable challenge, and he still wilted.  So from his perspective he must feel more than in those other ones that he truly let this one get away rather than that the other guy came and grabbed it from him.

And what a story he deprived himself of.  To be able - almost at 38 - to first dispatch Rafa and two days later largely outplay Nole for most of 5 hours is great.  But the losing finish spoils it all.

It's the 40-15 thing that's the worst...  Novak was totally outplayed this match and Federer just needed one more point and couldn't do it.  In all the big moments he was found wanting.

If it can be made any worse, I wonder if this might be the end.

Oh, and I thought Djokovic speech was very insulting. There were some very calculated digs in it and you could see from Federer’s face he got them.
