He has not been well for a while. Had he been ok, he would have played the French, played Canada instead of Cincy to allow more rest before the USO. But he did not play Canada cause clearly there is something wrong with his body. Whether it is the back or gets too stiff after a couple of matches (age) impossible to say...but it is weird to see how bad his body got since Miami 2017:

There is NO WAY he'd have played the French. He is done with clay.

You might have a point on Canada, but Cincy has long been a favourite of his the way Canada never was.

Well the fact is he considered it with his team and decided against it after all.
