PHM played a much more competitive match against Federer than BP did. BP just gave up after losing the first set. Very lackadaisical from BP compared to today's Federer-PHM match.

Unfortunately I probably won't. Having friends for lunch. I remember thinking , ok, Nole's not playing in Basel, so the next Sunday's perfect.

Its blockbuster Sunday today. Delpo is playing very good, and Fed is a bit off his high standards, but still okay. Its should be a good final. It will be good whoever wins today. I just want to see some sparkling tennis. 
Valencia final not too bad either. 2 players with totally different styles. A Dologo win is less likely, but who knows when he is on song.

DELpo was clearly the stronger and more steady player 1st set.
had like 3 aces by the 3rd or 4th game. 2nd set fed changed tactics; aggressive charges to the net, all over the court; delpo's form dropped a little. now they are going toe to toe. I'd still be surprised if delpo doesn't win.

Fed not playijng great atm but the crowd lifted him up when it mattered in that TB.
Certainly Delpo is player better than Fed but Fed may find a way to squeeze another win. Hopefully there is a TB in that 3rd set so no 25 27 this time or whatever it was.

yes, the crowd. but i was doubtful of his current form. he's played so much. last year he managed to win Basel, paris and wtf in very different circumstances.

I am glad to hear the commentator saying that Federer ran dry after 2 sets in that USO09 final v Delpo. Cause that's exactly what I saw too.

Delpo is really defending well for a tall guy. You woul dexpect to unbalance him easily but not at all.

Great match and a great win for delpo. he was never broken, the deserving winner. 
Although I'd expected fed to lose, I was very impressed how well and hard he fought and how close the match was.
Last year he came to this tourny having skipped the Asian swing altogether. He was most rested. You can't win them all. Best of luck in Paris.

Good match. And the better player on the day won. Very well played Delpo. . Fed needs to get his act together, he himself acknowledged his poor returning this tournament. Those squandering of BPs hurt him bad.

His return certainly let him down in that 3rd set TB. He coudl not return Delpo's second serve.

Federer missed his chances and has himself to blame. It is still wonderful to see him get to the final. Unfortunately, McEnroe's record will stand for a bit more, perhaps till he gets to Doha or Dubai. He likes to win and the frustration was very visible during the match in his body language. From god-mode, he is becoming more human.
