Fed getting a bit sloppy, threw break opportunities in game 1 2 nd set.

Amazing that there isn’t a top 10 seed left in the women’s event midway though the last 16 matches. Only three slam champs left and only Serena has won Wimbledon.

How is Fed not yet ahead in this set? Feels like he has had dozens of break points!

Classic Federer there, getting really lazy and complacent after a deity level 1st set. Then of course once the magic has gone it doesn’t easily return.

On 2nd thoughts, I suspect he sometimes gets scared when it’s that good because really he knows it can’t carry on.

Still, into the quarters without dropping serve.

Job done, harder than it should but can't complain.
Fed has some gears left. He kinda says in the interview he needs better opponants to find those gears

The 3rd set seemed a right scrappy affair. Was always going to be a battle of wills and I wasn’t convinced Mannarino was going to break him.

No sets dropped, 1hour 44 on court. Good day is you ask me.

I suspect he’d prefer Anderson. Though Gael might run himself into the ground in the first set.

Monf already with the Doc, think he ain't gonna finish today, so its Anderson.

I guess Fed prefers Anderson. Never lost to him and guaranteed short rallies. 
Monfils -though not a grass specialist- can drag Federer out of his comfort zone, which he has done quite a few times.

Anderson. BH slice return and chew up his groundstrokes. Another 3 setter.

Have to say that Anderson plays quite big, to say the least. He hits 138 mph serves for fun

So Fed in 16min 6:0, about same time as Nadal/Djoko tap the ball to serve in 1 set.

Fed would rather block Anderson and break his back with slices, then have Monf jumping all over and causing trouble for a set or 2 which he can.

Vesely looks to be a small serving big guy. Interesting mix.

Vesely's only hope is the one-two combination, but his second shot is terrible.

Anderson playing hyper-aggressive.

To paraphrase Jacob Rees-Mogg, Vesely is a vassal opponent.  He is having his tummy tickled on Nadal's serve - routine rallying until he's manoeuvred into a hopeless position.  Commentators are despairing.

Anderson forehand is so shakey!

Le Monf should take this set.

Federer would love a long 5th.

Wouldn't he just - but Monfils looks to have chiselled out a way to lose.  Fed would probably like Raonic and Isner to get sucked into a massive dual of the serves with tie-breakers and the lot in their QF too.

We'll see.  

One thing seems certain though, Nadal looks to progress comfortably to the QF for the first time since 2011.  Nadal's main potential rivals have nice attritional opponents - Simon for Del Potro and, if Djoko gets into the QF, Nishikori for him.
