Wimbledon, Day 4
Wow, what a line up of matches today!
Courts 2,3 and 18 in particular, plus Kuku-Nadal on CC.
Even Earnie is playing on court 12!
Kuku needs to remember that day when Rosol beat Nadal, anyone remembers his jaw-dropped face as he was watching from Sir Rosol’s box?

Kuku has the tennis to do it
I just hope Nadal is solid on serve, which is not the trend in this season (not even on clay)

Re: Wimbledon, Day 4
You know my theory how I can pin down a match loss on one point?
Well Kukku’s just had his...in the first game!
When he returned Nadal into the point by going conservative on the BP instead of remembering his brave friend Sir Lucas Rosol...
Nadal’s tennis on grass is a joke...so ugly.

Kukushkin what a ballbag! bottled it on the FH!
Nadal's serve not looking good at the minute. Kush needs to go after it.

Kuku doesn’t have the balls...which is why he was cheerypicked to decorate Nadal’a cupcake draw.

No-one with a first serve speed of 107mph is going to trouble my nan let alone Nadal!

This could be tricky for Nadal if Kushy gets the first set.

I woudl like so much to see a Fed Nadal match early on this fresh grass.

You can see how Nadal lacks time on (fresh) grass.

One reason I was really interested to hear you'd seen them watering the courts yesterday.

Cillic chokes the 4th set tiebreak away.
Was mini break up at 2-1 and lost the next 5 consecutive points.
Must be the pollen causing this chokefest.

Did anyone really think Cilic could threaten Federer on grass - he couldn't even beat the one-legged Federer. This version will eviscerate him.

Managed to catch the last game of Tsitsipas...great win from two sets down for the young Greek, lovely tennis!

I did not see the watering...but yes the grass looked greener. I can't quite know how to explain but if you saw the grass from close in the past you could see it was dry and curly, yesterday it looked like normal grass.
And as mentioned Nadal can't quite run as much as he'd want too.......yet!

Kyrgios is a nasty piece.
Muttering all the time during Hasse's serving to draw 2 DFs.
Scum.

Oh be quiet, you and Tenez spent months arguing that the run in of Berdych followed by Chung for Federer in AO was one of the hardest run ins in human history while Nadal got lucky with Cilic.noleisthebest wrote:legendkillar wrote:Emancipator wrote:Did anyone really think Cilic could threaten Federer on grass - he couldn't even beat the one-legged Federer. Re: Wimbledon, Day 4
I love watching tennis on grass..you can't hide anything...all talent and skill can shine through, footwork, soft hands, quick thinking...
Hopping over a few courts I saw a SBH Zeballos adapt his claycourt game and bravely dive onto grass to catch a volley a la boom-boom Becker, Nole play his smooth baseline tennis, Kuku bringing his simple DBH game but lacking heart, Nadal scramble and look like fish out of water, Haase showing his craft and Kyrgios just being a scumbag...

But that's typical of Cilic....he can have terrible patches. He simply never looked relaxed. Always tensed. But when it orks this intensity is great.Emancipator wrote:Did anyone really think Cilic could threaten Federer on grass - he couldn't even beat the one-legged Federer. But the way he lost that last game having 3 BPs....just sums it up.

What, you are now begrudging Federer for having his tough draw get easy?
You are a closet Nadal fan, aren't you...

Actually I will be very happy if Federer wins this again
(happier if nadal wins, but not hoping that much yet)
I just find that sentence very funny

Grief you can be Forrest Gump level of stupidity sometimes.
It's an observation.
Where in that statement does it say "I can't believe Federer's draw got easier, doesn't deserve it" or "Nadal is so hard done by"
Nowhere.
I don't begrudge any player who's draw unfolds or what have you. It's why "It's the luck of the draw" is so right in so many ways in other sports.
If you are asking my preference, a new winner would be nice. Failing that (which looks extremely likely) then Federer would be my preference for the title.

Re: Wimbledon, Day 4
Very true sentence. He has had by far the toughest draws, born at the wrong era, facing a new generation of steroids champs, have had the conds he learnt to play on completely changed into clay, had the balls got bigger at Wimbledon and USO, learnt to play with a 85inch racquet natural string, rigged draws,.....etc...etc..etcnaxroy wrote:Actually I will be very happy if Federer wins this again

Yes he beat all those odds and still became the best. It's not because Cilic lost on teh 5th of july 2018 that it will change anything. You need to see the bigger picture.....but so far we know don't see very much when it comes to our sport. You are just sucking to famous players...
