Re: Predictions for 2017
I didn't say he would win one. Said he would make the final. Agassi did it at 35 - and that's because he was a freak (guess who beat him?). Like Federer is. It's a prediction based on history and the fact Federer is the greatest of all time.

10. A YE n1 who is not Murray, Djok, Federer, or Nadal.
1. Extremely Unlikely. Semis and a good show in semis is also too far fetched atm.
2. I might have agreed here had Djoko won the WTF. His best chance will always be AO. If he loses that, probably he will not win even 1 slam in 2017.
3. Would be a nice surprise. He is too unpredictable. He was playing so poor in the build-up tournaments leading to USOpen, Then he beats everyone. The same was with his RG victory. So lets see.
4. USopen would be it if it is. Or AO. Grass and Clay are still difficult for him.
5. Interesting pick. I would say slam QF will be his best result in 2017.
6. Thiem needs to do lot of work. Be more professional in schedule. He is strong mentally but he needs to win earlier rounds much more comfortably. Else he has no steam left. Top-5 possible but I'll say top-10, lots of points to defend.
7. Nishikori has been the BIGGEST disappointment for me in 2016. Slam final? I will have to be hoping against hope.
8. I'm not following much of him. He is not in my radar right now.
9. Raonic can win a slam, most likely wimbledon.
10. Then from the above predictions either its Raonic or Delpo who have won slams in 2017.

Re: Predictions for 2017
Oooooh need to be bold:
1) A new Slam winner. Not one since 2014.
2) At least 3 new entrants into the top 10.
3) Nadal and Federer to be out of the top 10 end of year.
4) Djokovic to reclaim No.1 ranking by US Open.
5) Kyrgios not to get banned.

I think Raonic too. He is the only one from say the Nishikori/Dimitrov/Tomic band that has shown a willingness to improve. Certainly improving his net play and the BH is looking less like the liability it has in previous years.
I do believe Djokovic will bounce back. More because I don't expect Murray to maintain this level.

if he doesnt win AO then i will struggle to see him regaining the no1 ranking
besides he has a lot to defend the first 6 months of the year where as murray doesnt

Re: Predictions for 2017
Frankly I have no clue about what's coming in 2017. However I can imagine
Zverev beating Murray and Djoko
Kashanov reaching his first slam final....and maybe with a chance of winning his first slam
Rublev....will keep struggling in between #100 and #50
Koslov reaching the top 20
Kokki will be back (hopefully)
And now for the old guard
Nishi to win a slam (far fetched I know)
Murray to reach a few semis.....but not further
Djoko to win one last slam
Federer to win one last slam
Nadal to keep sliding
Inshahalla!

Re: Predictions for 2017
Interesting. I disagree that Fed will be out of top 10 next year. He has a lot of points to gain, his body will likely be in a much better shape after some matches, and he's clearly better than most players still.
I'll be surprised. But I also think he will definitely retire at the end of next year no matter what.

I don't think anyone expects him to be playing near 2006 standard or any great standard when he is only just back. But he's looking fresh and it will come. I don't think he will be outside top 10 by year end assuming he doesnt get injured again.

Re: Predictions for 2017
It moved on? So Federer making Wimb final twice in a row as an old man is your proof? I wonder which sport you watch sometimes. The only reason Federer is out of the top 5 this year is because of an injury. Even as an old man (in tennis terms).

Are you using Federer for that kind of argument? He is a special player though he also proves my point.
But you may have noticed that in Doha all 8 1/4finalists were in their 30s and had an average of 33!!!!!!!
DO you realise what hit means? I know your ego will prevent you from recognising how wrong you have been all this time but the fact you keep coming here, prove that maybe, subconsciously, you want to learn!...which is good!

Wimby will down to the size of balls. If it is the same as last few years, certainly Djoko and Murray are favourite....though Dimi there might be dangerous on this form.

I still expect one more from Nadal and maybe even two from Murray. This tour is full of mental midgets. Krgios isn't, but he can't be arsed. It will take a couple of years before Zverev and Theim rip through all these pretenders.

If Federer did that, I'd have to throw out everything I know about the world and begin again. Still, I do think he has another surprise.... maybe another wimbledon or another ass kicking for Nadal.
