I have never seen anyone having a easier road the final that what Djokovic has got this USopen. 1 walkover, 1 finished in 2 mins, Only 2 sets against an Injured tsonga and again.. Monfils returning from an injury in semis.

i think that dkokovic will win in 4 sets,but i would like to see stan the man win his 3rd major only so that murray is in the same conversation as wawrinka rather then the "big 4"

Pros for Wawrinka:

1. He can take Novak's time away here more than at FO.
2. Novak knows Wawrinka can beat him.
3. Novak may be sporting a shoulder injury.
4. Novak has not been tested and may be rusty.
5. Stan has more variety and is smart. 
6. Djokovic has suffered a few bigger losses this year.

Pros for Djokovic

1. He's a 12 time Slam champ.
2. He's still very confident.
3. He hasn't exerted hardly any energy this tournament.
4. Stan is sometimes temperamental. Not anywhere like he used to be though.
5. He is hungry.
6. Serve is usually more consistent than Stan's.
7. Wawrinka seems to time the ball better on his backhand on slower surfaces.


All said and done, I'd go for Stan. And have done. But this could be anyone's.  First set really key.

Also Mats Wilander is an idiot.  He thinks it's a done deal for Novak to get 18 slams... lol. Knows nothing about human biology or entire Open Era stats. I think the US Open was on Clay when Borg made the finals. Possibly exhaustion played a key role in him not winning 3 Slams in a year.

Stan can only play his best is he is allowed to.
Nole's returning and defending will make it difficult for Stan to spread his wings.

It's best of five and Stan is fit, so they will be energy dips with Nole where Stan may catch fire, but Nole will want this too much and he likes USO courts.

Quite surprised the US didn't proceed with Super Saturday and have the final on Monday night so not to clash with the NFL fixtures. As they are about the ratings.

Well, Stan used the slow, super humid evening conditions against Nishi, so he obviously prefers the ball to be heavy.

Signs are ominous, however I think of the Nishi/Murray match and how that swung around.

It was clay at first (well they called it dirt and dirt it was) but the last 2 or 3 times Borg played there it was HC.

Why aren't these players trying to do different things?  Come to the net , drop shots... you name it.  They seem to just play Novak at his own game.  Great if you bring your A game, but crap any other time.  Novak hates variety and having to move his boring ass off the baseline.

When I play at my local club, all the big hitters think I' just gonna supply them with winners, and they quickly realized what a frustrating little bastard I am. You don't beat guys like Djok by just trying to move them left and right.  Even this poor fool Wilander is saying it as I write this!

Because this is not club tennis...returns of 200kmph serves come like bullets at your shoelaces...cooo Daniel this is not a video game!

And also, Nole's is a very sophisticated game..he doesn't have natural physical power like Stan bit he is compensating for it with his brains...

People underestimate Nole's bh, it has fantastic variety esp with length and angles, Stan can't deal with it...he is as much of a rhythm player as Nole, probably even more so.

Plus, Stan's game is very tough to play and execute...
