but it's clear Federer in many aspects is slightly worse/unreliable compared to when he was younger. And considering tennis is a game of margins that is a big thing; which is why Federer basically needs to redline to win for here.

His main weakness back then was his BH and why he only lost to the Rrunners. And that is the very part in improve.....hence you don;t make much sense.

I am hoping that the goal posts will get bigger and Djoko's returns might drop as he slightly tires. But Fed has done most of teh running so far.

He wouldn't have ran anywhere near that much if his 1st serve % was as high as it was against Wawrinka. He's allowing himself to be brought into rallies by poor serving. It keeps dropping.

To be fair, the crowd are being VERY unfair to Novak. It's definitely taking a toll- but Federer needs all the help he can get.
