There is a 'Everything Else' section of this forum for politics, but I'll add that Farage resigned because he couldn't win his own seat.AceofDeath wrote:Read on twitter Farage resigned because they didn't win a seat, probably read it wrong then

No, the results are not fixed. The online polling got it wrong, because people who use internet less likely to be Tory voters (I'll let you draw conclusions from that lol...); but the phone polling actually has been showing this for a while.noleisthebest wrote:luvsports! wrote:Need some good tennis results after pulling an all nighter to cover the election for an online magazine - so depressing, fecking tories.
They are all depressing...
The elections are fixed. I knew it as soon as I saw pencils in voting booths...

There must be some sort of leak in the Nadal camp.

Yes, OTF recruited Toni during January transfer window.
He is now working for us as a double agent.
Of course, noone believes it and that's the best bit!

Wow welldone Berd that's how you handle a big server!
This match is better than anyone Nadal has played on clay this year.

Anderson isn't a great server for 6'8, much worse than rao at 6'5.
His movement is deffo better than Isner's but his he can't hit as big either - Isner can volley a bit too.

For some reason I never see Kev and Querrey as serving trees although they are very tall.
They are better movers than Izz and Ivo but still too slow for Nadal on clay.
I saw Raonic has another "new" haircut...there is something worrying about men spend too much time in front of the mirror...

His celebrity girlfriend is pulling the string and giving styling tips... Querrey was moving smoothly when he did well in Queens a few years ago, don't think Anderson is as mobile.noleisthebest wrote:For some reason I never see Kev and Querrey as serving trees although they are very tall.

JJ is a great mover for 6'8. Better than cilic, rao and delpo.

I think Cilic is the best mover of the giraffes, Delpo's pretty good, too.
JJ's become 1d...hasn't made any prigress since Wimby 2013.
Btw, where IS that man...he's been announcing "combeck" every tournament since AO

Nishi is so much better than Ferrer, similar style of play, but the talent makes all the difference in Nishi's favour allowing him to go for the corners rather than "just" the angles and lines.
He is not scared of going down the line, either.
Beautiful ball-striking from him tonight.
Should be a great match against Murray tomorrow.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: MADRID
The way Nishi plays his matches reminds me a lot of Nole...same mechanics...short physical slumps after which he comes back with a vengeance.
He trusts his shots the same way, too.
When I watched him play him in O2, when he was in the zone, he had Nole running left right and centre...he just ran out of gas in the end.
His size is against him in that match-up, but only just.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: MADRID
Q. At 2‑Love.
ROGER FEDERER: First, second, or third set, but my problem was I couldn't return his first serve. Just a horrible performance on the return.
Especially first serve return, because actually from the baseline considering that I hadn't really had a good preparation, I actually played pretty good. I thought I had the upper hand.
As the match went on it got so bad that I just couldn't get into decent positions on the return, so it made it very difficult, you know, to get any sort of rhythm after that.
But credit to him for serving well and keep doing what he was doing. But I'm very disappointed by that. That's what cost me the match, in my opinion.
===============================
Yes we were right. He is happy the way he played at teh beginning and then it got worse....like v Wimby 10 v Tsonga or even Wimby final last year v Djoko. Tiredness or back but a significant drop of return quality.

Q. What did you mean when you said, We need a clown in the circus. What did you mean exactly?
ROGER FEDERER: There were a lot of bad calls. Only thing missing was a clown because it was just like such a mess out there.

Wow...funny! was that targeted at Kyrgios?

Re: ATP Masters 1000: MADRID
Q. Kyrgios skyrocketed to fame after he defeated Nadal at Wimbledon last year. Seemed like you have also noticed his talent much before that. You invited him for training. Do you find any similarity with Kyrgios at this age and how were? By 19 you managed to be in the top 30, and Kyrgios also managed to do that, like in the last month when he was 19. So do you find any similarity between how you were?
ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I mean, I guess some of them are definitely there. Like you said, the path, raising in the rankings, enjoying to play in the big stage and being dangerous for top guys, no doubt about it we have some similarities there.
In the game itself not really. He's got a totally different baseline game, serve, and all that. Clearly having a double‑handed backhand changes everything anyway.
Yeah, what else comes to my mind? I don't know.
I think both of us probably also needed some time when we were younger to figure out our games. We have a lot of possibilities in terms of shot selection. To hit the right shot they right time is something that for us comes a bit more difficult than a steady baseliner who is just happy to rally.
We prefer to do other things out there. That's why he might take a few more years to really crack the code for him. Yeah.
==================
Hehe....having a go at Nadal/Djoko and Murray!
Q. (Indiscernible.) Do you find any similarities from today's match and last year's?
ROGER FEDERER: Yes.
Q. What are they?
ROGER FEDERER: Missing match points. Today was probably five or six.
Q. (Indiscernible.)
ROGER FEDERER: Excuse me? Atmosphere? Yeah, you know, bad day. Happy to home. That's it. Same last year. My wife was in hospital at this time. I can see my four kids and my wife, so it's great.
Q. Are you going to Rome next week?
ROGER FEDERER: No clue. We'll see.
===================
Is he annoyed? bitter? careless?

Great interview, as always.
I saw part of it yesterday, and was going to post it here highlighting the same paragraph:

Clearly not happy with the early exit...
A direct result of yet another fixed draw for Nadal.
Also, the telling comment about DBHs...

He may have done, I hope he didn't.
I wish he targeted the real clown.
That's what I like about Nole skipping Madrid. A nice way of telling them everything with saying nothing.
Definitely the worst masters 1000, has been a circus from day one: "models" ballgirls, blue clay, ugly fridge looking stadium, awkward place in the calendar....God knows what else Tiriac may have wanted to "introduce" but wasn't allowed to.
I wonder how much Nadal was behind it moving from indoor hard to outdoor clay....just to add a few more trophies to his fake, botoxed, photoshopped trophy collection...

Ridiculous time keeping in Madrid. Obviously bad time keeping between points and appauling scheduling. Once again having Murray Nishi starting at 8pm in the evening will be of huge advantage for Nadal. That's rougly how he got away with a win last year when Ferrer v Nishi dragged on at 11pm!
