I can't wait for the other semi.
Any predictions?
I'm going for Fed in 3.

I have no idea there. Judging by form, I would have to go with Andy, perhaps even a straightforward win. But this being WTF I cannot bring myself to write Fed off. But if pressed, I would pick Andy.noleisthebest wrote:I can't wait for the other semi.

I am sooooo happy Nole is in the final and I can just sit back and enjoy the other semi.
Murray is beatable in O2.
It really all depends on Federer in my opinion, he has to play his attacking game right from the start.
A lot will depend on how much his heart is in this all and how hungry he really is.

I'll let you into a secret: at one stage, when Delpo broke in the 2nd set, I was mentally shredding my ticket into tiniest pieces of confetti

Quick, before I patent it!
BTW, I never saw it was a double bounce, esp not triple as Delpo suggested it. Nor that Llayani admitted he was wrong. It's hard when your head's in the sand, isn't it ?

haha cheers bud!
i agree the first angle they showed i thought it wasn't a double but when they did it in super slo mo and from side on it was pretty clear.

Missed the end of the second set and the 3rd...glad to see Djokovic pulled through, but kudos to Del Potro...he could be a serious threat next season

I think feds is more tired than me and I've been reading 100's of journals and articles today for the dissertation as well as going for a quick 40 miler and planning this damn essay!

Well done! Nothing worse than being injured and not being able to do any sports....
I have no idea what pawwwpaaa is, though, new English?

thanks bud, I know tell me about it especially if you are as injury prone as I am.

I'm not injury prone now because I've learnt to look after myself, although it's sometimes hard as you ignore the warning signs and keep going. Had my fair share but not too much.
It's the spirit that's giving me the trouble, pushing me all the time, and those spinning instructors brainwashing us that our bodies will do anything we ask of them

1) If RF was really SO out of form, how did he manage to play the
2nd set so swiftly and almost flawlessly? Where did he get that energy
to leap like a frog all over the court for the entire duration of this winning set?
2) Having seen his commanding form in the 2nd set, how can you know for sure his drop of form before and after the 2nd set
is natural or not?
3) Federer said: I was thinking more about David than about (the semis vs) Andy & Novak; more disappointed for him than I am about losing today.”
Why was Ferrer a factor? What’s your interpretation of his statement that he wasn't that disappointed about losing? In other words, he was virtually saying he didn't mind the loss to delpo!! i'm sure you've followed Roger for a long time. How many times have you heard him suggest he's more disappointed for another player's result rather than his own loss?
4) Why do you think a 0-slam Ferrer is a tougher opponent for Djoko than a 1-slam Delpo who’s actually won a final on the biggest stage?
Thanks in advance.
i just got back home so and settling down to watch the semi so i'll reply your post quickly:
* 1 great set and a sloppy next one is what we've seen many times this year. Not unsual for Federer. BTW: why would he play so well the second while he was planning to lose?
* in the round robin format Fed never did anything fishy. In 2006 (or 2007) he sent one of his best friends Lubo home in the third match, while he was qualified already. He may have tanked a few matches in his career but never when other player were dependent on the result
* Fed felt bad for Ferrer because he wanted to give a better shot at it
* Djoko was going to win anyway, but 3 tough sets against ferrer are more exhausting than 3 sets against Delpo

Noticed this before, Murray's slice DTL is a effective respons to Fed's CC slice. In the past he didn't know what to do with it..

Fed has no confidence at all. Average groundstroke speed is pathetic really. And if he speeds up, it's out

nope. Later on you'll see Murray won't have to take any risk at all to win points and cut down his errors further. Fed will go down quick like i said yesterday.

Ok fair enough, this is not what i expected.
I really think Murray is attacking more than he should for his own good. It's like he doesn't notice Fed is not in the best form

Don't you think GP MUrray is ridiculously fit nowadays? He has bigger arms than Nadal, twice as big legs....

I don't think Murray's attacking, just bludgeoning the ball into Fed's backhand.

Fed got the break back without doing anything special. Murray hit 12/14 UE's...this tells a lot.

Expect the ultra-aggressive Murray in tie-break. If Fed contains him, he'll win in straights.

It's unbelieveable the difference in talent between a Federer and the other top players. Huge gap!

It's quickness and hectic character of the TB why Fed is so succesful in those. Fed plays TB's instinctively. Ideal when going through a slump
