Goodluck to both players today.
Federer for #7 and #77 (will equal McEnroe)... (This the fifth time he has won more than 70+ matches in a season).
Djokovic for #2 (after his first win over Davydenko in 2008).
Some history to be made.

Federer prevented Nole breaking Mac's Streak in 2011 RG SF with a Finger.
With the "no love lsot" between these two Mac's records are going to be safe tonight

Re: WORLD TOUR FINALS 2012, London
Looking at the H2H between Djoko and Federer, I am surprised to see how the prize money works.
http://www.atpworldtour.com/Players/Head-To-Head.aspx?pId=F324&oId=D643
Fed won more than 3 times as many GS
Nearly double the number of TMS
6 times more WTFs.
More than twice as many tournaments
Yet at the end Fed earned a total of $74M while Djoko has already reached the $41M mark!
Is Belgrade's tournament worth that much?

That is just the prize money, not total earnings.

What is the relative value of the prize money in 2003 vs 2011?

Re: WORLD TOUR FINALS 2012, London
I suppose everyone noticed that Fed had a more passionate and vocal support last night, that Murray even got booed on his own home-turf.
I was surprised by both.
I know Parisians are fiery and expressive in their passion for everything they love, but I must say I did not expect the Brits to follow them in the same fashion last night. I really didn't.
And although on the one hand I felt sorry for Murray as he did not deserve to be booed, I am pleased that people here actually can get going. Amazing effect that I don't remember anyone but Federer ever had on the impasssinate facade-preserving Englanders.
Quite something.
Federer is obviously aware of it and I believe it's giving him a new lease of life.
I would be quite happy to drown in that ocean of beauty tonight were it not for Nole.
Consuming fire vs Everlasting flame.
It's going to be hard, but nothing's impossible when your heart's in the right place

Yes I know and that's teh one that concerns me here.
What is the relative value of the prize money in 2003 vs 2011?
I guess it was due to inflation but when you think that in the previous decade Pete earned $66M in the same period...it looks to me that the period between Pete and Nadal was not paying much.

One of the poems I wrote in my young, searching years said stg like this: "If I scratch the surface, I'll lose my fingers, where's the mistake?"

Veejay wrote:I dont know how Federer won that set...he literally stole it from Murray
This was how he won according to his own words:
Federer: "Basically I really tried to pull myself together in
this breaker today, where I thought I didn't play great in yesterday's
tie-breaker first set against del Potro, and not being able to come
back. It was obviously an important moment in the match."
"Of course, I was looking at having lost the last two
matches against him, so I thought it was up to me to change things around
really and come up with a game plan that maybe was different than at the
Olympics or Shanghai," said Federer. The pressure was really on
me. I'm happy with what I chose with my coaching staff today.”
He worked really hard, adding more aggression to an already aggressive approach. Hopes this helps.

Cant believe this is Lars Graff is retiring from umpiring after this match.Cant even begin to think how many matches i have watched with his as the umpire..he has always been pretty fair and quite strict in enforcing the rules of the game
Gonna miss him!

well, better this than a bad start! As you know the first set is crucial for Fed (not for Djoko..)

I lost connection again. It's clear that if you put Federer current tennis with his 25yo body...he woudl be unbeatable.

Re: WORLD TOUR FINALS 2012, London
i heard that fed never came back in their earlier meetings IF djoko took the first set.
so if he takes the first set now we can assume that he's the winner tonight, I guess.

Fed just cannot move. His last BH error on his serve at 6all was so much teh result of tiredness. He did not move his feet.
