Well played Goffin; rock solid on serve at the end there. Federer looked a bit wan throughout. This has felt like a week too far for him. Makes you realise the level of intensity needed to keep winning.

Yes after seeing the highlights of Zverev's match I knew something was wrong and it certainly explains why he did not play Paris...not as "smart" as a deadly needed rest...which turned out to be not enough at the end.

I think Fed's back (as I guess this is still the issue)  is becoming too much of a nuisance. I can't see him play for much longer in that situation.

This ruined my fukin weekend, especially being 1 set up so quickly, expected a Dimi final and would be less pain if Dimi won, suckssss

I would not be too down Jahu... The main trophy bar the slams was WN1 and that was gone 2 weeks ago. And also Fed can enjoy the fact that he won 2 extra slams while having Djoko and Murray not 100%.

I think Fed took this match too lightly, more so when he won the 1st set so easily. He completely lost focus and started to think too far ahead forgetting that this match wasn't over. He felt like, he can get back in the match any times he wants to. But it went too far away to play catch up. 

I've seen Fed lose concentration and interest in matches, this was one of those. No worthy opponents remaining in the draw made him lax.  He at least wanted Zverev.

Health issues? I can't see anything like that from any of his matches. Nor he hinted in any of his on/off court interviews.

His mouvement was really poor. He did not even try to run on some of the points. Much more obvious to me than any complaisance from Federer. Not his style, he has too much experience for that.

God, I remember when the were all the rage. People used to live out of them, much the way they live on laptops or via mobile phones today. Insane.

Never had one myself. I’ve never cared for an organised diary even back when I worked in a big company. I prefer to keep it all in my head. I don’t have a mobile either, if I want to speak to someone I know how to get them and if I don’t I don’t want them phoning me.

Very poor tennis all week. Not sure whether it's players form dipping or more like unconsistent bounces on the court. Lots of shanking from all players.

Well there have been a lot of v close matches.
Maybe the level has not been as high but i have found it very entertaining.

Oh...yes in that respect much better than the boring one sided matches we had in the past. ..Just that the players don't seem able to get in the grove.....only in stretches.

Lots of shanking as I said.....and a few times players seem to blame the bounce.

I remember in the past there was a bubble on the serving line.

On one hand, I'm happy for the not so new boys going fwd, sure wanted Fed to bag this, but happy for Dimi, Goff, Sock to take it too.

Agree. I woudl like Goffin and Dimi to win....Maybe Goffin first, then Dimi. So a Goffin Dimi final woudl be my best choice.

However Dimi is a real choker. He has not won this semi yet!

Yes quite a choker this Dimi....he is. He was lucky that Sock gave him 2 UEs to close the match.

Dimi is a nice player but when it matters, he collapses.

Good run for Sock last month or so, some american after a decade being on focus.

Goff will fold tomorrow, scared of where he is, cant get much sleep tonight cause he beat Fed etc etc.

Yesterday I thought it would be Sock vs. Federer in the final - so no more predictions from me.

Same here.  It's more excuses from Fed fans.  Same as the Nadal fans perpetually and relentlessly do with Nadal.  It's very tedious.  Every single loss can't possibly be because their fave player didn't play well enough or the opponent did.

His service % and accuracy was poor and got worse by the 2nd and 3rd sets, he made some easy misses on volleys and passes. Poor mouvement and not chasing balls are also signs of lack of focus. I have seen Fed himself accept such loss of focus mid-match in some interviews. 

Fed was complacent seeing the way 1st set ended and was looking at the final already. BIG mistake.!!

Looked like father time has taken over now, he looked sluggish and passive, thinking about the Christmas break more than about the match at hand. 

Well, at least it's not a predictable top 4 final like previous years.

He sounds very disappointed but at the same time resigned to the fact he did not have it in him. He said in his previous interview that the tournament was far from being in the bag. 

Just watch any of his AO match and you will see how faster and consistent he is. Day and night I am afraid.
