Yes, but Murray got so much support from LTA, almost a card blanche...and similar to Nadal, he got his head down and worked hard. And did all it took to get the "edge".

Talented people find it difficult to push themselves to and beyond their limits. Some simply don't want to. It's a big step into soulless land with no return...

So Nadal has clearly extended his time between 1st and 2nd serve. As teh commentators were saying it took Nadal 4 minutes to serve after 2 let serves.

It's going to be tough for Djoko actually. I think he should win....but not guaranteed.

very good commentator on Eurosport. Saying that Nadal goes over time but also that Sock is starting to get used of Nadal's spin. I have stressed that it was extremely difficult to get used to his spin and it takes some to finally being able to time it properly.....and ususally it gets easier as teh match goes on as he gets tired and injects less spin...

..but we are not there yet.

I hope you're right. But for now it seems once again they managed to transform him to a war machine just in time (not watching though so keep those updates coming)

Yes...he often starts all his matches like that. It's part of breaking the spirit of his opponent.

I don't have much hope for Sock...though.

Seeing Nadal bludgeon the ball unnecessarily just shows me he's low on confidence.
He knows he's got Sock under control physically and can afford to be generous with wasting energy.

Seriously, only Nole can stop him here...either Ferrer or Murray will be dispatched in max 4 sets, like last year.

Sock being put back in the draw...... 

11 years and Nadal is still going.....impressive!

Regardless of nadal's form...bit disappointing from Sock as I was more impressed by Chardy's FH than Sock's for sure.

Nadal is raining sweat. I have always said that a big part of Nadal's stamina relies on bluffing.

Interestingly on the 2 BPs he was warned on he went over by 6 seconds and this one he went over by 14 seconds! 

Sock sneaks the 3rd set.

But what is so complicated to understand? It's a rule! It's very purpose is to make the game of tennis less physical and more of a racquet game which was the purpose at the beginning.

Why not widen the court for Nadal as well, only for Nadal of course? It's the same debate. Having 5 s extra is like having a bigger court to aim at.

he did a bit towards the end of the 3rd set but you are right....he still plays the same now and of course too a break between the set..went to his changing room for refuelling!

I think Djoko will get him on Weds. Especially knowing that Nadal tires. But Djoko can have some big slumps as well.

The problem you have Tenbo is that the Nadal fans over there think 2 wrongs make a right. Because other players do it and don't get penalised is justification for Nadal to get away with it too. I like Murray, he got TVs and got punished and handled it with humility even when he had a right to feel hard done by on the second. It's not to say that he shouldn't be penalised because others get away with it.

Nadal actually did just get on with it in this match, but the post match interview will be interesting.

As I was saying Sock tries to shorten the points this what everybody does when starting to feel ahead of Nadal and that is the big mistake. The key is not to go for winners but to make him run.

This is what Djoko does very well.
