How Would You Solve This Problem? Empty How Would You Solve This Problem?

A well-retired Andy Roddick (32) who is now part of senior tour, playing in Albert Hall this week touches on an interesting subject:

"If Andre Agassi wanted to play only eight events a year we should have held on to him for absolutely as long as we could have. If I’d had the option to play eight or 10 events, I might have thought differently about retirement."

As nice as it is to have familiar faces on tour, I think it would be better to keep compulsory number of tournaments, but give the option to top 4 players, or players over 30, to skip one of back to back Masters (IW/Miami, Rome/Madrid, Toronto/Cinci) if they want to.
Above all, speeding up conditions would cut out unnecessary fatigue and injuries that are affecting players of all age.

You already have rules that address that. 3 different criteria that on their own, each allow you to skip one mandatory master, at least two of them are related to age and career length. The three of them combined (Federer's case) allow you to skip as many as you want!

I admit I was a bit lazy to go and see what the rules were, I knew Fed could skip a lot but not how much etc...
What's interesting is that those rules are obviously not working and that the tour has reached its physical limit...or has it?
What's the world come to when a 28 year old young man uses stem cell treatment to "heal" his body?

Also, WTF was exceptionally bad this year partly because Murray, Raonic and Cilic were burnt out and couldn't restart their minds and bodies for one last push to the finish line.
Yes, money is great, but isn't something lost in all that...

Roddick clearly wishes he could have played longer. Hewitt...his sheer will is flogging the long retired body.
It will be almost sad to watch him try and fail again in January.

I hope draw riggers give him a kind one and set up another late night match against Baghdatis in R1.

Good point! Sport is too much related to science when in principle it should keep players away from science's help.

It's not because they were burnt out......it's because the conds were way too slow.
