New statistics at Monte Carlo 2014
I am very glad to see the second page of statistics being made available.
Page 1 - Removed
Page 2 - Removed
These are now at http://laverfan.imgur.com
Wish ATP had done it much earlier.

Re: New statistics at Monte Carlo 2014
The most interesting stat in the bottom chart today for me is the serve speed stat, just proves how deceptive it is on clay.
Tsonga had his wide one working so well and stopped Fed from converting all those BPs in the first two sets, it was all in the placement, not the speed.
Also, the meters covered, shows those wide risky, line-painting corner shots Tsonga was pulling off and Fed had to chase...he'll sleep like a lamb tonight!

Updated: Please see the link in OP where there is an album of the screen shots.
Some very interesting numbers to compare and contrast.

Re: New statistics at Monte Carlo 2014
LF you are a star! Great stats!
Funny to see Federer covering more ground....just a tiny bit. Also interesting to see Ferrer covering considerably more ground than Nadal...but it's not that surprising considering how loopy and angled are Nadal's shots. I'd say Nadal ran 2300m at a considerably faster pace than Ferrer ran his 2700.

Let me know if you want me to post both pages, or just the second page. I have started an album of these at the link mentioned... (I get about 30 seconds to grab these otherwise I have to look for replays).

Interesting to see that Federer actually covered more ground once again than Djoko.

Re: New statistics at Monte Carlo 2014
Apparently Court Des Princes @MC2014 did not show any second page statistics.

Re: New statistics at Monte Carlo 2014
Thanks LF.
It's good to have a look at these stats after the match, esp the court coverage one.
These stats have been available on TennisTV for some time.
My private game now is to try and guess who ran more before I see them. So far got it right every time

I have not seen the second page before, on ATP. Is TennisTV covering it differently than the regular ATP coverage? A screenshot would be nice.
I have all of MC2014 second pages now in the album.

Re: New statistics at Monte Carlo 2014
TennisTV is affiliated with ATP, so it's the same stream and same tables shown after each set and at the end of matches.
However, TTV also has a feature from a pull out bar/menu that shows the stats live during a match, the graphics are basic: white on black.
I am not a stats person and found it by accident looking for something else.
I once tried to c&p part of it but it was not allowong me, don't know whether it was because it being an ipad app.
Will see of it's any different on the desktop later.

Re: New statistics at Monte Carlo 2014
I've just checked out the full desktop TTV version, it now has a catch-up of Monte Carlo and the stats bar looks different from the live ipad version, offering only standard stats.
Since you seem to have the thing for charts and stats, why don't you put a bit of flesh on those numbers and write Sharko style summary of Monte Carlo, give it some personal twist, could make a fun read!

Hi LF I cannot find the Final second page stats. Would you have them by any chance? In fact those would be very interesting per set.

Re: New statistics at Monte Carlo 2014
If you hover over each image, there is a match name. I have sorted the album in alphabetical order with the winner as the first name.
Here are the direct links.
Removed the image links due to scrolling limitations. Please check the album and let me know.

Re: New statistics at Monte Carlo 2014
Ok now I see it. Thanks. I could not see it earlier.
So just a relative small drop in service pace can be noticed compared to the previous day match v Djoko. But since this is an average it does not say what are the service speed in the 3 sets and since Fed got broken twice in the 3rd, I suspect his average 1st and 2nd pace dropped by a fair margin compared to set 1 and this would explain in part the loss.

Re: New statistics at Monte Carlo 2014
You know how sometimes you can pin a loss on one point: to me, it was the 4th point in the TB.
Fed turned the brain off, started rallying on his FH instead of being aggressive. He was in the driving seat in that point.
Instead of being 2:2, Stan ran away with 1:3, kept his foot on the gas. There was no going back from there on. Mainly physically, Stan read the situation and circumstances well and made the most of it.
He was aggressive all the time and as soon as saw his foot in the door he kicked it wide open.

you are probably right. I vaguely remember the point. But even by that time Federer was knackered.
