Best Matches of 2013 Empty Best Matches of 2013

K, this is my best matches of 2013 so far, in terms of quality. Pick yours as well.

10/ Murray vs Verdasco Wimbledon QF: 4-6 3-6 6-1 6-4 7-5
Murray engineered a comeback from 2 sets down to topple Verdasco.

9/ Monfils vs Berdych French Open R1: 7-6 (10-8) 6-4 6-7 (3-7) 6-7 (4-7) 7-5
A sensation match from the home favourite against in-form Tomas Berdych. It was a 5 set thriller, which the Frenchman narrowly edged.

8/ Murray vs Federer Australian Open SF: 6-4 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 6-7 (2-7) 6-2
Murray saw off a spirited yet inconsistent performance from Federer in 5 sets to advance to the Australian Open final.

7/ Wawrinka vs Gasquet French Open R4: 6-7(5), 4-6, 6-4, 7-5, 8-6
A fantastic 5 setter with both men playing sublime attacking tennis. At the end Gasquet physically wilted, while Wawrinka was able to stay strong.

6/ Dimitrov vs Djokovic Madrid R2: 7-6 (8-6) 6-7 (8-10) 6-3
This was a big shock as youngster 'baby Fed' Dimitrov stunned world number 1 Djokovic in 3 sets.

5/ Del Potro vs Djokovic Indian Wells SF: 4-6 6-4 6-4
Del Potro used his incredible power to come back from a set down, as well as being 0-3 down in the final set, to beat 2011 Indian Wells Champion Novak Djokovic.

4/ Djokovic vs Wawrinka Australian Open R4: 1-6 7-5 6-4 6-7 (5-7) 12-10
Djokovic survived an incredible assault from Stanislas Wawrinka to avoid an exit in R4 of the Australian Open. Wawrinka played incredible tennis throughout, but it was not enough against Djokovic's mental strength and staying power.

3/ Nadal vs Del Potro Indian Wells F: 4-6 6-3 6-4
Nadal overcame Del Potro in a match of stunning quality in 3 sets. Del Potro was a set and a break up at one point, before some phenomenal attacking and defensive play from Nadal struck back.

2/ Djokovic vs Del Potro Wimbledon SF: 7-5 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-7 (6-8) 6-3
A stunning match from start to finish, Del Potro once again brought his huge game to the table in a thrilling match. Djokovic rose up to the challenge though, and held on to win in 5 sets.

1/ Nadal vs Djokovic French Open SF: 6-4 3-6 6-1 6-7 (3-7) 9-7
An epic encounter. Djokovic had stated from the beginning of 2013 that his big aim for the year was to win the French Open and complete his Career Grand Slam. However Rafael Nadal stood in his way, and Djokovic was determined to topple him. The match had incredible twists and turns, and a break up in the final set Djokovic was sure to be heading towards victory. But some incredible resilience from Nadal helped him claw back the set, aided by Djokovic falling over the net in surreal circumstances in the 8th game.

Big Shocks:
-Djokovic vs Haas Miami
-Nadal vs Darcis Wimbledon
-Federer vs Stakhovsky Wimbledon

I must admit, I have seen that many matches, it's all one big blur, and none in particular stand out to me.
I have strong memory of some good shots from Mannarino, Brown, Federer, Dolgopolov etc...brave fight from Stan in AO against Nole, JJ's passion, Paire's flair and electric tennis, great drama of Novak-Nadal RG semi-final, and brilliant thrill Darcis's upset gave me over Nadal, the entire match was unbelievable.
And with this piece of music I bid you all good night...

Of the matches I have seen this year and can recall off the top of my head and in no particular order:

1) Nadal vs Djokovic at the FO
2) Wawrinka vs Djokovic at the AO
3) Del Potro vs Djokovic at Wimbledon
4) Murray vs Verdasco at Wimbledon (I did not see the whole match)
5) Lisicki vs Radwanska at Wimbledon
6) Lisicki vs Serena Williams at Wimbledon
7) Djokovic vs Haas at Miami. That was a nice beatdown by Haas. I love Haas' playing style.
