The applause says it all really. With each encounter between these two becomes more special given we don't know if it's their last encounter.

Aside from that 2nd set, Fed played exceptionally well for the last 2.

Not so much the tiredness. Just has he got the consistency to play like those last 2 sets against Djokovic.

Re: Wimbledon Day 11, Friday 12th July
Has an AO17 tinge to it. Had to wait 8 years to see if Fed could still do it and he did. Nadal got his licks in at the FO and there was some doubt Wimbledon given how slow the courts are. 11 years on and Federer has put those doubts to bed.

Re: Wimbledon Day 11, Friday 12th July
Federer deserved to win, immense performance.
Nadal's performance left a lot to be desired, he was missing on the FH DTL and BH DTL so at the end had to hit many balls deep but central, which Federer could deal with.
I'd say Djokovic favourite for the final, unless Federer can serve at his very best.

Nadal was forced to play to the Federer FH. Which he had success during Set 1 until the later stage of the set and the TB.
Federer for the most part kept him off the CCBH which destroyed him at the FO.

Fed BH wasnt at the top, but its not dead either, still usable to set up BH shots.

Nadal fought really well, and some of his shots to save match points were unbelievable. Fed in 4 I'd say was the fair result.

I could hardly blame the crowd. I mean if I was watching a serial arse picker and he threw a fist pump in my direction, odds are I might get hit with debris and I don't support clinker chuckers. It's that classy thinking I would expect from the toff crowd.

Well, well, well!
It wasn't a classic, not even a decent match, but who cares about that.
We're going to have a wonderful final on Sunday, the third Nole-Fed final.
IDEMO MAJSTOREEEEE!!!

Have a feeling if Nadal did break for 5:5, he would of gotten the set and totally trash Fed on 5th.

I must say I expected more from him. Esp in these playing conditions. Fed did play well but Rafa was not up to his finest.DEC1M8 wrote:Nadal fought really well, and some of his shots to save match points were unbelievable. Fed in 4 I'd say was the fair result.
He simply disappeared after the third set, very unlike him.
Did he carry any injuries?

Delighted for him. That first set was key, and when he started coming out on top in the rallies it was phenomenal. Djokovic is still warm favourite but he’s got to play better than today.

You know that Nole always plays the minimum he needs to. It's up to his opponent to raise Nole's level.barrystar wrote:Delighted for him.
