Djokovic or Nadal for RG - who would you prefer?
Nadal or Djokovic for RG
In a choice between these two only who would you prefer to win RG?
I'd prefer Nadal. Djokovic winning would give him 2 at least of each slam and leave him just 4 behind Federer with time to make up the difference. Nadal, even if he were to win RG, I think will still struggle to get to 20.
From a game perspective, I prefer to watch Nadal. His running FH is incredible. He better at the net and I feel that he a more well rounded player than Djokovic. However Djokovic is just so solid from the baseline that he can play his one game everywhere and pretty much win. Only on the truly fast courts is he exposed - and they are virtually non existent. It irks me that a player who is mediocre at volleying, cannot hit an overhead to save his life, and has a very average sliced BH holds 4 W titles. He is a huge beneficiary of the ultra slow conditions and the recent talk of him being the most well rounded player ever (from some quarters) is patent nonsense.
Anyway what do you think

Re: Nadal or Djokovic for RG
Djokovic for me. Mostly because I think he would have harder time to catch Fed's total. 18 is much closer to 20 than 16 is, and with only one year age difference between Rafa and Nole I see Rafa as more dangerous.
Agree with everything you say about the comparison of their games. Nole is unbelievably 1D, far more so than Rafa, yet we hear about him having no weaknesses (when I am sure journos who write that stuff know better than that - they are just shilling for tennis).
With all that said, I find Rafa's game far uglier to watch. Nothing against him, but I have never been a fan of loopy clay court forehands, and he epitomizes them like no other.

Worst poll ever, AIDS or Ebola as per Tenez
Hope none of them, but to answer it, Nadal for me too.

They are both very one 1D and none of them will be remembered for their shots. This is exactly why they have been so consistent...and what Slippy doesn't understand.Emancipator wrote:In a choice between these two only who would you prefer to win RG?

If they relied on flair and talent, their results would be much less consistent but more like Stan's. Not many have enough talent to be consistent like them....in fact only one...and unfortunately he is past his sales by date.
