Murray and his future.....
Just read that he is taking the rest of the year off after China. He is probably still hopping he can return to the top. "What Djoko does, I can do" he must be thinking.
I really don;t him coming back...Unlike I felt it was always in Djoko's strings.
For Murray peaking is certainly behind him. He has achieved way more than I would have envisaged and I think he should be happy with it. It shows how far determination and professionalism can take you. Many more players with more talents achieved much less.
Good on him. But it is going to be even more pain than before for him onwards...should he wish aim for top 10 again.

He's had it. Not a prayer.
Djokovic won't be around for long either - time catches up with them all. Esp road runners.

I was hoping so..........based on Borg, Wilander, Chung, Hewitt records.....but nowadays, the RRunners are really fit and eager to make the most of it.Daniel wrote:...Djokovic won't be around for long either - time catches up with them all. Esp road runners.
In the past when a champ was overtaken by a new generation, they would not try to keep up..they were just happy to enjoy the money they had earned but nowadays they know they have to do the most while at the top and being a millionaire at 26 doesn't mean you will still be one at 40.....so they are prepared to work much longer.
I honestly never thought Nadal would last as long. I was dead wrong!

I think it’s been an encouraging return so far for Andy, bearing in mind he had nearly a year out, and couldn’t even train for most of that. Ending the season early seems a smart plan, so that he can have an extended winter training session.
I think we should have a fair idea whether he is capable of returning to somewhere near the top early next year. I certainly wouldn’t write him off yet - especially having seen how easily Novak has won the last two slams.

Andy isn't Novak.... he isn't even close. Wawrinka has as many slams as Murray and only started playing with belief at about 29 year old!

Hope he gets well, will miss him if not, he gave some good beatings to Djoko time to time.

I would miss a bit of him coz he wouldn't lose a match in the locker room like many players currently on tour. The new -gen hasn't matured still. He would play ugly if that is what it takes to win.Jahu wrote:Hope he gets well, will miss him if not, he gave some good beatings to Djoko time to time.
Beating Djokovic? Yes. but good? No. Djokovic needs to be playing at a much lower level to make the match competitive. Murray-Djo matches are absolutely boring.

He will reach Top 5 again, maybe even Top 3, but not No. 1.
