This is an absolute robbery. Probably the worst decision taken by a referee in favour of the home player.
It's embarrassing.

Djoko playing on experience, he ain't doing anything special.
Kyle should take this set then maybe Djoko can melt.

Williams gets made a seed and all the top ones lose their minds and end up choking themselves out.
Kyrgios couldn't give a fuck if one was given to me not to give.
Crazy tournament. In week 2 only 17 seeds out of the 64 are left!

You really think so? Like karlo's once in a life time foot faulting while playing Murray at a crucial TB?bogbrush wrote:Nothing to do with home player, just a rubbish decision.Tenez wrote:This is an absolute robbery. Probably the worst decision taken by a referee in favour of the home player.

It helps to have an external, detached view of those things. I remember Haruis and Kafel being robbed versus Henman. In the same way courts are being slowed down to help Nadal reach slams of other slams and draws are rigged (Platini himself confirming it). This is the worst call I ever saw in tennis and it happened in favour of the crowd's player. Not way it was a coincidence.

Umpire can make a mistake, but Kyle should of been fair and call it a fault.

You seem to have completely overlooked that THE VERY POINT BEFORE THIS the Umpire made the correct but contentious decision to award Djokovic the point after an overruled out call. He might easily have ordered the point replayed but correctly ruled against the HOME player.
Forgot about that didn’t you?

And why would I be supporting Djokovic or Edmund. In fact I much prefer Edmund's game. But I did not care much who was going to win.bogbrush wrote:Detached view? You’re not talking about yourself are you?
I was having a chat with a friend at that time and was not paying attention to the match. What made me look at it suddenly was to see Djoko being asked to keep on serving in spite of all the replay showing a clear double bounce...and sailing the ball out.You seem to have completely overlooked that THE VERY POINT BEFORE THIS the Umpire made the correct but contentious decision to award Djokovic the point after an overruled out call. Then given you’ve had new information I assume you’ll change your position from the Umpire being biased to just making a very bad decision.

Not really. He has a good serve and decent ground shots but he is a choker and if it was not for Fabio having wrist problem, it would have been even tighter.
In short Zverev can trouble Nadal...bit on CC he will be all over the place and will mess up all important points like Kushkush did!

Re: Wimbledon 2018 Day 6 - Prediction
Only three players yet to drop a set. All three not only winning their matches in straight sets, but not much drama in the sets either:
Nadal (lost 26 games)
Federer (27 games)
Del Potro (30 games)
I am starting to worry about Rafa. Have not seen him in action, but he is progressing too smoothly for my liking (though, in fairness, his first three opponents were rather weak).

Zverev will be pleased with his result. This is the first year he made Rd3 in three slams. Even if he goes our in Rd 1 at the USO, he can deem his 2018 slam performances a big success.
(For BB: I am being sarcastic).

The extraordinary thing about Federer so far is that he’s not even faced a break point.

I expect the conditions to get better for him though. He has had a such a piece of cake as a draw so far. It is going to take a good performance to beat him. But I don;t see this happening before 1/4F.

Re: Wimbledon 2018 Day 6 - Prediction
So the 2 biggest dangers to Nadal on his own half are now out. YAY! Who didn't see that coming?
We're now relying on Vesely... Who does have a good chance. Tall power hitters have always troubled Nadal on grass and he's double backhanded. Vesely has won one ATP 250 and also beat Djok in 2016 at Monte Carlo when Djok was then N1.
Djokovic, who may not be up to it in present form. We'll see.
And Gulbis/Nishikori... the latter who would have no hope. The useless little wrecking ball always takes out a better player and then flops.
Nadal has had the easiest draw up until 4th round.

Error though it definitely was, it was a shocking decision. Fortunately, it didn’t ultimately affect the outcome of the match. Djokovic looked very impressive but does have an extremely tough run to even make the final. Khachanov, Nishikori and Nadal/DP is as tough as it gets in this tournament. I think he’s the favourite to come through this section but it will be interesting to see what state he is in if he does make the final.

Nishikori and Nadal (have you been asleep the last 5 years?) are not anywhere neat the toughest on grass. Anderson and Del Potro and Raonic are by far bigger threats here. Nishikori? Come on.

nitb, you chuck it around with gay abandon relying heavily on others to employ the full thickness of their skin, I recommend that you take a playful remark in the spirit in which it was so obviously intended.

The conspiracy theorist in me says:
A) They've both gone to France
or
B) Ten's been offed and that departure thread was the culprit explaining a permanent absence

Hopefully Tenez will realise that the internet isn’t too difficult to access in France and NITB will also understand Tenez was only joking. Would be a shame to lose either/both from the forum.

For all we know, Tenez and nitb have been having a steamy affair the last few years, and Tenez's move to France has put a strain on nitb. If nitb is the jilted lover here, then Tenez making fun of the man she was willing to abandon for him may have been the last straw breaking the camel's back.raiders_of_the_lost_ark wrote:noleisthebest,

On the other hand, if Tenez just made a random comment without even knowing what nitb's husband looks like, then she obviously had no reason throwing fits.

God these lower players lack bottle so much. So sad. A real shame that Zverev was ill and Kyrgios again couldn't step up to the plate. Once again we're stuck with a grand slam quarter final line up of same old.
Del Potro. Cheat. Federer. Djokovic (unless KK can buck the trend).
Federer's half now looks like the worse draw. Anderson and Raonic are going to be a handful.
Nishikori will retire at some point leaving a bye. Cause he's the most useless tennis player ever. Even worse than Monfils.
