I am sure if you search the net, you'll find gems that would eclipse that.

In a strange way, just like not enjoying watching Nadal, I could not even read this article, I got stuck halfway.Daniel wrote:http://www.newsweek.com/rafael-nadal-man-who-never-quits-or-makes-excuses-67271

As if the guy who wrote it was trying to copy the famous “Federer as a religious experience” article. (which also I struggled to read in one go but for a different reason...it was too intense in a good way).
And funnily, this Nadal journalist even quotes Wallace, the guy who wrote “Fed -the religious experience) when he describes Nadal as:
“mesomorphic and totally martial,”
And I think he really cut him to measure in just those few words (though I still prefer mine “death of tennis” )
And in a way Nadal really doesn’t go away...he is a stuff of nightmares, like Terminator who gets off the ground even when he looks shattered to pieces and def finished.

Put it like this - still much to cheer about, but her timing these days is nothing if not predictable http://www.wooffiesrafaramblings.co.uk/

Lucky Wooffie, she is so in love, time stopped for her back in USO...
Shame she was so sensitive to any criticism of Nadal...but so are all of his fans I suppose.

I often find devotion like that, or with fans to any team or athlete quite admirable when they go to such lengths to profess their support. Makes me realise how much times have changed when simply a poster on the wall would suffice. Remember the days at school when friends would write to fan clubs.
I always wonder what such devotion feels like. I have no such shame in admitting my overriding partisan pride, but it feels more of an enforced loyalty appreciation than say proper devotion. I only ever feel that with sport though.

I never went through that phase...not a poster type of person, I suppose, I felt it was kind of below me.legendkillar wrote:

And then I became a “noleisthebest”

OK, lemme tell ya!
It’s fantastic.
Though I would not call it devotion or loyalty.
When Nole came on the scene I was in a bit of a personal tunnel and he reconnected me with my Serbian roots which in turn got me out of that darkness.
I think everyone finds something else in the player they like.
In a way, you can even “classify”fans from different players by their “characteristics”.
Nadal fans are shameless!... and “the best” in that crazy, blind following to the extent they take any criticism of him personally and are then not able to relax and communicate with others as a result. They are onna constant emotional rollercoaster.
Fed fans would die before admitting they are “fans”.
They are tennis lovers, connoisseurs...after all Fed IS tennis, right?
Nole fans are few as theyncame late on the scene where the cake was already halved between Fed and Nadal, so that was also funny in a way, like a third person in a marriage.
Murray fans...does that group exist?
I am sure it does but they don’t dare admit in the fear of Murray yellimg at them in case it’s naff.
All in all, tennis fandom or however you want to call it is a great getaway from the dullness of daily grind.

Wait... here comes a new contender.
If Nole fixes his arm, no reason he could not play another 3-4 years, esp if he relaxes and flattens his shots like he seemed tomstart doing ipthis AO, and returns to the spirit he played the game with ten years ago when he was “the new kid on the block”.
Yes, many iffs but not that impossoble.

He doesn't have a good point. Djok isn't Federer, a bonafide genius. His style of play is never ever going to lead him to success at 36 like Federer. Not even a chance. The same way he was never going to get close to Fed's slam haul. I'd bet you 10,000 on it and you may as well give me your money now. Yours and his thought process is totally broken.

Nobody said “Djok” is Federer.
But it’s not impossible for Nole to play well st 36.
He doesn’t have any leg issues like Nadal or Murray.

Re: Is this the most delusional article ever written about tennis?
It's as close to impossible as it's likely to get. You are underestimating how good Federer is. What a freak he is. How rare a player like him is. And how average Djokovic is when he loses a step or two. Not to mention how demanding his game is on his physical strength. He has no B game.
I don't need to argue this with you. History will show me to be correct, so we'll just wait. He can't even play now. He's got no hope at 36.

Re: Is this the most delusional article ever written about tennis?
They're all full of delusion on 606v2, as we know. Love this gem:
Don't see Federer winning AO, IW & Miami again in 2018. So I think number one ranking has gone, unless Nadal either gets injured or loses very early everywhere (unlikely).
Can see Fed winning WTF, Basel & Shanghai. Even if he wins them and Paris it'll still require some assistance from Rafa.
--------
lol... always downplaying Fed. Always playing the "Rafa injured" card. Every time.
