Rafael Nadal: I am A Completely Clean Guy

When asked about the accusations by a reporter at Indian Wells, Nadal tackled the question head on, denying the accusations, reportedly saying: “No f***ing way, forget about it.”

I am very far from that, doping. I am a completely clean guy. I worked so hard during my career that when I get injured I never take nothing (banned) to be back quicker.

The sport is an example for society. It is an example for the kids and if I am doing something that goes against that, I will be lying to myself, not lying to my opponents.

I have been open all my career. I never tried to hide nothing that I did. I did PRP and then I did stem cells.

The first time with PRP it worked fantastic and the second time it was bad. I had to stop playing tennis for seven months.

With stem cells, I used it two times on my knees and it worked very well. I am not doing, never did, and never going to do something wrong.


He has been the doctor for all the Spanish players for a number of years. I would never take nothing that he doesn't know about.

So he is finally admitting to PRP treatments
For those who are not aware of PRP treatment you can read about it on the THASP blog " the curious case of Rafael Nadal"
It a nutshell,through operation Galgo and Puerto it was discovered that PRP treatments is used to mask doping and that doctors were telling athletes to fake joint injuries so that steroids could be injected articulately
Since PRP treatments were allowed without a TUE ( therapeutic use exemption) Rafael had several joint injures ( almost like clock work )right after the AO
The most notable one where he apparently he lost a match to Ferrer citing a hamstring injury which then turned into a right grion injury (abductor longus ) which I think after the joint injury PRP treatments then went back to being a hamstring injury which he recovered from in no time time!!

These players are so stupid,setting themselves up to look like such liars and fools the day they get exposed
It always the biggest mouths who are always going on about how they would never dope that end up being exposed as the biggest dopers I.e Lance Armstrong
I would actually believe Sharapova made a reckless and negligent mistake if I believed her using the drug for purely medical reasons was credible
But shes clearly lying about it
If she's lying about 1 thing then you have to wonder what else she's lying about
I wonder what punishment Nadal think is necessary and I wonder what punishment he would think would be necessary for him the day he finally gets caught

There's no evidence he has though.  We can only go on facts.  I personally believe if any player was going to be guilty, it would be him - but without evidence I don't think it's fair to attack the man on those grounds. It could well be he is innocent of doping and then we're just leading a witch hunt.

What we do know is Sharapova is guilty - and may others likely are as well.

I am staggered but not surprised how blasé he is about using stem cell treatment.

Are you saying you believe Nadal is clean?

The Sharapova scandal is just further proof that the ITF has no credibility,it doesn't look like they were going to expose her
You can't say theres no evidence just because the evidence isn't public knowledge,who knows what else else they are keeping secret 
Then theres the Puerto case where the judge ordered that all the evidence be destroyed 
Unfortunately it doesn't seem like he will ever be caught unless he admits to it

How so? She certainly wouldn't admit to PED-abuse if they'd let her get away with it. It's clear to me that she got the choice to either inform herself with the possibility to put her PR spin on it or be informed upon.

Regarding Nadal: Poor guy, is forced to lie on this subject and go all hypocritical. Or maybe he leaves the medical stuff to his doctor and really believes what he is saying. After all he doesn't seem like the smartest guy out there.

ETA: He has reason to be concerned because the Operation Puerto ruling is expected finally this month. Since it's already 10 years ago and most of the athletes concerned are either retired or on their way out, maybe they could open investigations.

Yes, I can, because that's exactly what you have when there is no public knowledge. There is no evidence that you know of to make the statements you do.

I am saying, as I have repeatedly said, that I don't know - and have no evidence that he is.  The odds and circumstantial evidence would favour that he has done it in the past - but that is not good enough to state something as a fact. IN fact, doing so is illegal.
