Great mover and player, but struggling with confidence in this match as she had a long draught.
One if the fairest players I've seen.

I like her all out aggressive game, but there is something very negative about her, a bit like JJ.

Can Halep's growling and racquet thrashing be explained as roid-rage?

Federer is doomed. Djoko is everywhere with time to spare.

Heh. Not looking promising I agree. No indication that Roger will be able to find holes. But Roger is not yet properly calibrated; which makes Nole looks better than he perhaps is.Tenez wrote:Federer is doomed. Djoko is everywhere with time to spare.

Just tuned in.
Looking pretty even, but very physical.
It's going to be a grind.

Djoko moonballs a lot on Fed's BH to slow things down.

It's amazing to see Federer play fast and rush Nole even on this court.
I hope The Digitals can appreciate how hard that is.

Absolutely dominant from Nole so far. Fed needs to find a way to change the patterns, presumably needs to approach more but it may be too hard to do here.

He played a great game when he held his serve (saved a few BPs).
Nole is also playing aggressively but safer.

That was not pretty. Djoko playing very well, Fed having no answers at all.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Indian Wells
Slow court...very quick set.
The conds were design for Rafa, so it's certainly not good for Fed. Djoko has that extra split second allowing him to play hard and safe.
If it was SHBH only, Fed woudl have won that set 61.

Fed has to come up with ridiculous great shots....whereas Djoko needs to play at 70%.

So if Nadal makes his shots at 40% how can you say he's better than Federer?summerblues wrote:Exactly.Tenez wrote:Fed has to come up with ridiculous great shots....whereas Djoko needs to play at 70%.

First, do I say that Nadal is better than Federer? That is news to me. Second, what does it have to do with 40%?

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Indian Wells
It's simply a BH thing....SHBH v DHBH...on those slow conds it is simply extremely unfair.

I was just going to say that, large frame or not, Fed's BH is still his Achilles' heel here.Tenez wrote:It's simply a BH thing....SHBH v DHBH...on those slow conds it is simply extremely unfair.

I know exactly how Fed is feeling.

I think you did on the other thread.
40% is my analogue estimate of how much safer Nadal plays against Fed.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Indian Wells
Yes the court really killed tennis here, neither have come to the net much.
Fed tried, but it's tough, as he is a sitting duck with Noke being so quick.
The most annoying thing is his serve in this match.

Like a high bounce gives Nadal an amazing advantage, slow conds makes Djoko's footwork and shots twice as good.

I always find it so funny when Djokovic collapses because of the crowd.
He must be the only player to get so negatively affected by the crowd.
