Let's try.....

I noticed the change and I am not sure what/who processed it but I think the change is not bad unless there is a problem with quoting of course. YOU use a mac, right?

Good to see some grass tennis again, especially when Fed's in the house. Rog is very consistant in his gameplan: Serve-setup shot-volley.

Yes, you've got to be quick on that grass in Halle.
Plus, he lost the little belief he had at the beginning of the match, his volleying is now desperate and panicked.

But I don't mind, makes Fed look even more glorious Big Grin

Wow, that was quick!
The match was def under 45 minutes....

Well spotted for the serve looking off in the last few games. We'll see everything more clearly in his next match.
I hope he is fine.
He could certainly do with this tournament under his belt going to Wimbledon.

I only saw 4 points on his serve so it may have been a weird move but he was a very strange move on his service action.

ZVerev was a joke though.

I'd love to see Federer get to 8 Wimby. He deserves it!

One thing that really sticks out so much now is the speed of surface after the clay swing and how crucial the grass prep is, contrary what some posters think.
I didn't see many matches, but Tsonga looked instantly adjusted, same as Mahut.
I think that grass in Halle is even faster than in Queens.
Footwork is definitely one of the nicest thing to observe on grass, esp those who'e got it.
Those who don't look even worse than usual.

It's so difficult to judge on a screen, especially with different camera angle,  but I felt that Queens was faster than Halle.

I was judging not looking at the bounce/speed, but just the footwork in players. You know grass is fast when Fed does not look fast on it as he does on every other surface. Gulbis struggled yesterday, too. Esp with returning. Plus had so much less reaction time. It has been fascinating to see what difference the proper fast surface is making. No wonder Nadal withdrew from Halle. I just so hope Wimbledon don't sell their soul and serve up that slow grass again.

traditionally Halle is  slower than Queens. Halle is in terms of speed very much the same as Wimbledon but less durable.

The camera angle is indeed misleading.

Hewitt-Del Potro starting at Queens.
Earlier, Cilic knocked Berdych out in two close sets. If he was more stable between the ears, Cilic could really be a decent player on grass...and HC, of course.
Who can forget him serving at 5:1 for a two sets to love lead against Murray at last year's USO....

Looks like Delpo has not learnt how to bend the knees on grass.

Hewitt could actually be a real banana skin in Wimby this year if he plays like in the good old days.

...and Monfils manages to lose the match....so it will be the repeat of the last year's final in the semi tomorrow, go Fed!

And now time to see a bit of Hewitt & Delpo.

..the spent force still knows how to move on grass, unlike the lumbering Delpo.

So it's Hewitt against Cilic in the SF tomorrow.
He gave Delpo a lesson today, and I am always for guile winning over brawn.
Hewitt never played any breath-taking tennis but still managed to make Delpo look 1D and awkward on grass.
Nice control on the ball, always a welcome break from the usual base-line bashing...

Fed explains his double bagel win against Zverev today:

"It's not something which is easy to do. You never go into a match aiming for that score. I was very surprised that it happened today, especially on grass.
I hope he doesn't take it too badly. I just had a pretty easy time picking up his serve, and I must have made a ton of returns. I think it is disappointing for a serve and volley player to go down like this. It shows also how easy it is to hit passing shots or returns today."

Time to see who Kudla is....

That was a pathetic TB from Becker. Youzhny seems to be in good form.

Tomorrow's semis:

Queens:
Hewitt-Cilic
Murray-Tsonga/Kudla

Halle:
Federer-Haas
Youzhny-Gasquet   so all 4 SBH in Halle tomorrow, super!!!! Magic

Haas has built quite some good strength of the upper body and arms. His SHBH is quite strong and doesn't seem as prone to breaking down as Fed's.
