Fed braught his squash racket today, he hits the ball nowhere near the sweet spot

Haas' dodgy second serve helps him out though.. Fed gets the break

pff, louzy match it is

It's smart to play Halle instead of Queens. It's pouring down here and I cannot see how the final will be played tomorrow as more rain is expected.

Well if Fed serves this out, there will be a lot to enjoy in tomorrow's final. And there were a few very nice FHs from Fed in the previous game. A win is a win, and Fed needs those badly  smiley

Yes, the weather is really horrible.
I think the 40% tax bracket has stg to do with it as well. I remember Nadal moaned about it a few years ago. Players seem to be all disappearing into these small cash-laden exos such as Boodles.
I was not impressed that Queens allowed Tomic's dad to sit in the stands despite the ATP ban. Apparently they "struck a deal" so he has to behave himself, but I don't think it's on.
For some reason I never wanted to go there, although I enter the ballot  every year out of habit (as I'm registered with them so they send me emails) and never win anything, of course. Mind you, I only apply for the best weekend tickets which obviously never go into ballot just to corporate envelopes...I hope Murray does not win it.

That was some great grass tennis from Youzhny, best I've seen all week from anyone: superb SBH, great net game both in attacking and defending, lovely all-court tennis with minimum bashing and plenty of flair.

It really is criminal grass season is so short!!! Grr

Play finally started at Queens....

I saw some of the 3rd set and Murray played pretty well. Nothing flashy but very solid. He's got a light racquet and very strong arm so for him it's like ping pong...Il always find a way to bring the ball back with a flick of the wrist. His volleys are solid too.

To me, the strange thing about Murray is - despite that solid game, he is somehow more vulnerable than the other top players.
There is something fake at the heart of his tennis, can't quite put my finger on what it is.
With Murray being seeded 2nd and Nadal 5th, Wimbledon draw is  looking very  interesting. Seedings coming out on Wednesday.

Na, Nadal may not be seeded 5th at Wimledon. Wimble don't exactly follow the ATp rankings for seedings. Ferrer will be seeded 5th most likely and Nadal 4th.

Very hard to defend the baseline on this grass, I am so used to seeing balls being retreived from corners on all other surfaces, it looks unusual to see a CC FH going for corner actually turn out a winner!!!!

Oh, how I wish Nadal never withdrew from Halle this year....

Youzhny deserved that set, he was very well the better player throughout the whole set. Fed struggled with his returns and those deep balls from youzhny.

Youzhny playing out of his socks atm just to save the BP. His game is pretty simple, safe and controlled compared to Fed's, and it really is Fed who's letting him get away with it.
I reckon Dr Misha is going to crack any minute...
Fed needs to steady his FH range asap and tone down on the line-painting aggression on it a little.

Fed is playing like someone ranked 20-30, not #3 player. Missing easy forehands, very vulnerable in defenses .

Youzhny is playing good, but I think its Fed's poor play that is making him look better. He looks so slow.
A younger Fed would have won the match by now.

Despite his slightly mechanical shots, Youzhny is a nice player, but Fed makes him look really bland.
It is going to be really terrible when he retires.
