Lovely play from Tsipas. But I hope Rub will win the tournament.

I actually quite like Rubs FH. It's pure! And the pace is astounding. The only equivalent I saw was with Federer's. In particular in that match v Monaco at the USOPEN.

I just found out Monte Carlo is this week.  And happy results too.  I am sure Rafa and Nole will do better at RG

Did not know Tsi mother was russian.

Tsi was by far the better player today. I fear Rub's game will suffer of nerves in finals like Lendl did for a long while. To little margins to produce in tense moments.

Tsi was really impressive. Physically he is a few notches up from Rub. He can cover the court well and can produce pace without Rub's intensity.

I like both players actually. Tsi has something of the good old days of the 70s. I am not sure why but he has something of the old generation/era.

Tsitsipas is no Thiem. He will beat Nadal tomorrow and at the FO....easily. You can bet whatever he won't be on Nadals section of the draw at the FO....

I agree, Nadal will be no match for him at Barca or FO; Nadal is too slow these days to chase down Tsitsi's shots.

I was talking pre 2003 probably

1- Federer did not achieve much prior turning 22.

2- He was not equipped to deal with long rallies on slow courts against guys who had luxilion (difficulty v Hewitt and Nalby) . Those guys nowadays are fitter than Nalby and Hewitt.

3- He was excellent on fast court v Pete or Goran. It took him a while to adapt to slow court and could only with new gen since he adopted the new racquet.

The game evolves and you do not want to see it cause you don't quite wish to accept that Nadal 2010 would be thrashed nowadays. More so if he had to respect the rules (clock).

He has won sportsmanship award, which is voted on by fellow players, for the past 3 years!

Nadal lost to Zverev. Frankly this Zverev game is uhly and Nadal should have won that first set.

When Nadal arrived, it was still possible to be ahead physically at that age but both Nadal and Djko just reached so many higher level physically since 2005/6 than it is now impossible for the youngsters to get to that level at 18 or 22...but you can see today as yesterday that the youngsters have much better shots than Nadal and Djoko and will very soon completely overtake Nadal.

When I see this beginning of set from Shapo...cannot help thinking at Federer when he was crushing Nadal at the FO06 ...until he ran out steam.

I feel Shapo will probably do better. But first Nadal was much worse in 2006 and Federer was playing with a 90inch racquet....very different had he trained with a larger racquet.

You are living in denial. I have no hope you can come out either. Not liking Nadal or his game is one thing but appreciated for what he did is another.

Nadal has beaten that someone last RG finals to claim his 20th. How many years will it take that someone to match Nadal physically at RG?

Yes, the bigger frame has given the chance for Federer to be more agressive and not to have to be dictated by Nadal as much as he had to with 90inch slice BH. Is that difficult to understand? Will you at least admit you were wrong about Nadal's superior mental strength v Federer now? I doubt it.
