While I do not think going toe-to-toe hitting with Stan is a good idea from Tsitsipas, I have been quite impressed how he has been able to hold his own in those rallies.

Absolutely. The depth and direction he is getting on the balls is remarkable. Seems to absorb the power and then spits it out.

In the second set it looked like Stan was barely holding on, and I was wondering if the dam was ready to burst and Tsitsipas would just sweep past him.

But no, in fact the third set was all Stan. He played better than in the second, and it was Tsitsipas whose level dropped.

A very generous section. Had a burnt out Gasquet, Basilashvali and Pella. That wasn't going to throw out anyone with any umphh factor. Look at Federer's section. Seeded players gone by Round 2.

Surprised the draw riggers aren't out in force on this one.

Age won't protect him to that extent. He's been playing doubles since Miami. Plus he's dropped some un-necessary sets in this tournament so far. Tsitsy's played till now 54 matches (incl doubles) this year which is nearly double what Federer would've played.

He'll end up like Thiem in 2016 when it felt like he played 100 matches!

You think so? I agree with him on that too. What was the last time we saw Stan get tired down the stretch? He played some long 5-setters vs Nole and he was good all the way to the end.

This 4th set Stan's serve is starting to wobble. His saving grace is Tsitsy being more miss than hit.

Hasn't played a 5 setter since last FO which he lost. Hard to measure tiredness over a 5 setter if you haven't been dragged into many.

Tsitsy reminds me of Murray. The constant self berating and creating problems that needn't be created. If he can sort that out, hell of a player.
