Shame On Roland Garros!
Yesterday was the official ticket sale day on RG website.
This year I was only thinking of going to the final as all I am interested reg RG now is seeing Nole lift that trophy.
I even got several personal emais from RG offering me tickets for the final (serious!!!)
but decided against buying one for this reason:
http://www.kurir.rs/sport/tenis/skandal-navijacima-iz-srbije-zabranjena-kupovina-karata-za-rolan-garos-clanak-2186707
Roland Garros has actually stopped all payments from Serbia, so fans who were trying to buy tickets from there could not go through with the transaction even though they were alocated their tickets.
Disappointed but not surprised.

Re: Shame On Roland Garros!
Here's google translation as I am too busy.
The order came directly from RG's main sponsor: BNP Paribas
=================================
On Wednesday, 23 March began selling the remaining tickets for the French Open over the Internet.
During the day in our newsroom to emerge numerous outraged tennis fans, which are usually pre-booked accommodation in the French capital during Roland Garros.
They argue that, even though they were even among the top hundred who booked the tickets, they could not reach them.
Some of them are called organizers of Roland Garros, and get the explanation that they were ordered not to sell tickets fans with payment cards in Serbia, although previously there was no problem.
The fans, whose names are known to our editorial staff, are outraged by this explanation and say that you have never felt humiliated like this and wonder what is the reason?
"Do the organizers want to Djokovic and the rest of our players do not have support in Paris or is it something else?" Asks one of our fans.
Some of the fans came the answer from Roland Garros in which it claims that the organizers are not to blame, but such a letter arrived from BNP Paribas Bank, the main sponsor of one of the four grand slam of the season.
==================================
As I said at the beginning of this leap year: expect the unexpected!
And the irony of me receiving those emails from RG's sales team and even personal phone number to help me buy the ticket... it was a personal email exchange, nothing automated, and it never happened before.
All in all, disgusting!
This will make the ultimate victory even sweeter!

I wouldn't be too hopeful if I were you. Novak isn't playing as well now as he has in the past - and he never managed to win it then either.

Hehe, I am not hopeful, I am confident!
Or, as my balanced alterego would say: we'll see...

Back to the main topic...for me this is worse than draw rigging.
It is so low, words are failing me...
Such chic facade and such rot behind it.

Re: Shame On Roland Garros!
I posted the article on tennis.com and got a decent reply!

@noleisthebest... This is a disgrace. Im in shock at what i am reading. I was talking to a Canadian yesterday and they had no problem getting tickets for the semi and final. The media are also a disgrace constantly saying Nole has no fans, well it would seem like that when they only sell the tickets to certain people. I wonder how many other times they have done this. No doubt this news will not be in mainstream media. Im going to tweet a few commies and tennis writers about it. We should try and let people know about this disgraceful behaviour.

So LS,
no comment from you yet?
What does a journalist have to say for a gem like this put on a plate for him?

Re: Shame On Roland Garros!
Didn't you see the screenshot taken in the article?
As the guy from tennis.com said, don't expect this to go to mainstream Western media.
I have emailed the link to all this to a friend who is a member of Serbia's Davis Cup team and asked him to pass it on to Nole.
From the beginning of this year there has been a systematic media witchunt on him before EVERY single tournament:
match-fixing before AO
Sharapova vefore IS
this "women's equality" thing before Miami.
I am so glad this leaked out...imagine what else goes on behind the scenes...

Is this due to security? I cannot see why they woudl not allow serbians....unless they have to limit the number...which is normal. Have not read it all.....

That screenshot didn't even have the email addresses, it would take me around 2 minutes to replicate that 'evidence'.noleisthebest wrote:Didn't you see the screenshot taken in the article?
Good old Thomas from French Tennis Federation has emailed someone telling them that Serbian credit cards aren't accepted... LOL.

Obviously it's not going to have the private email address published in a newspaper's article , it says private details are kept with the editor.
Don't you worry, we don't destroy evidence like Spanish judges....

Limit the number of who?
The person was denied paying for the ticket, after he/she was allocated one.

Re: Shame On Roland Garros!
Well NITB is beaming with pride!!!
My effort from yesterday was not in vain, and French Embassy in Belgrade announced that Wednesday ticket scandal was a technical "glitch" 9! RG website, which has now been "fixed" and tickets can be paid for.
So, although it's a small step for the human race it's a big one for NITB and all those who believe in fighting for truth!

Yes Paul, it's sad times for the whole world, but as a European at heart, I am particularly upset about the disappearance of old France.
Mind you, Britain is not much different.
Money has really twisted everything.
It's mindboggling what goes on behind the scenes...

Re: Shame On Roland Garros!
Here's the link to today's article, for some reason I wasn't able to post it earlier:

Here's google translation:
======================================================
The Serbian media quoted on Wednesday a number of complaints from citizens who are trying to buy tickets for the second Grand Slam of the season , but could not because of the country of origin . The French Embassy has conveyed that it was due to a technical fault , and now that tennis fans can normally buy tickets .
" Customer Service Box Offices Roland Garros will do anything to with the greatest care answers to the questions of fans from Serbia ( phone number 00 33 1 47 43 51 11 - Customer Service : https://tickets.rolandgarros.com/nous-contacter ) " , says the statement of the French Embassy .
Tickets for Roland Garros will be purchased in advance until 13 April via the official website , the contingent will be in sales and 4 May .
======================================================
I find the whole incident fascinating!
