Del Potro let that one slip away though... 0-30 up with an easy backhand and he netted it.  And looks to me like he's not approaching the net either.  That's not a good sign.

Commentators seem to think that's a great tactic... for some reason.

So far Delpo the more assured one, even slices better!!

Delpo has a pretty good slice, unlike Nole (even though Nole's slice is also better than it used to be). Slicing to Nole's BH occasionally is not a bad play.

It's criminal though, isn't it?  That they admitted to deliberately slowing the court down to favour certain players.  And the only thing that's happened is the same old...  Although Del Potro is the one at a disadvantage.  That means Wimbledon is now the only slam that isn't super slow.

Mighty boring watching Del Potro hitting what should be 10 winners... to defence returns.  But he's not approaching the net at all again.

Considering the courts of yesteryear... Yes it is.  They're all slow.  All 4 [There's a reason a 30+ year old Nadal reached the SF at Wimbledon].  And now the tournament officials are openly admitting to rigging them to benefit certain players/.

Oh, god...  McEnroe is at it again...  saying Djok can win another 6 slams.  He must be on another planet.  The odds are astronomical. He hasn't even won this one yet!

Court is playing totally to Djok's strengths.  Hardly any aces for Delpo compared to what it would have been.  And he's gone into this match playing without a game plan... again.  Just like he did v nadal last year.  No net approaches hardly. 

But I guess we can't blame him totally... i've seen so many good forehands get returned now because this is sooo slow.  And it's also boring me.

Djoko is quite comfortable handling Delpo's FH.

So much for the shot clock.  It's not 25 seconds and she didn't even call a foul for Djok going over the 30.

I don't think even Delpo can sustain it too long.  He needs Djoko to play more poorly than he has in that second half of the first set and beginning of the second.

That's why it needs to be taken out of the umpire's hands.  If they go over it should be a forced point penalty.
