as with delpotro, first set seemed to be dominated by thiem, but in the important moment, nadal prevailed

Yes. It is just impossible to keep the pressure on Rafa from that wing. SHBH needs to either go for a kill outright (but that is a suicide vs Rafa on clay) or it will allow Rafa to take over.

Only scoreboard watching now. Don't know what is worse. Seeing how the scores are slowly but surely adding up in Rafa's favor, or seeing it happening on the court.

I don't think so. The only one that can handle Nadal easily is still Nole.
