Happy Nishi Empty Happy Nishi

He just won the challenger after beating McDonald 1 and 4.

I think he can be the next number 1....if he puts his mind into it. I know he is not there but he always had the game to beat the top players. He just needs a healthy patch...and from there talent and  confidence can do the rest.

And get some pop in that serve. Always felt that was an area of big weakness in his game.

And as you say, staying healthy will be of paramount importance too.

I doubt it. We've seen at the AO (f.i. Djoko, Dimi) what happens if the serve isn't consistantly a significant shot.

I thought he got married when I saw the title....

and then the article from the ATP site I have stop visiting ages ago...

Well, good on him.

As for Nishi number one etc...if he hasn’t done it by now he never will.

Heart of a rabbit.

Nice to see him win, otherwise an embarrassment to Samurai land, totally failed us.

Cannot see him reaching #1. Not enough firepower, esp on serve, nor consistent enough when it matters.

I don’t get the love for Nishikori. He’s a good player but I don’t see what’s so special.

His ball-timing.

Easy power, sweetspot on tap.

He has the game to beat the road runners at their best, regardless the surface. Not many have that capability.

On his best day. And they come few and far in between. His game and body both are fragile.

He needs more power in the modern game, especially on serve where he does not get enough free points.

Certainly but maybe he can have a healthy patch..and if he has then it can happen. We don't have many players who can make nadal look useless on clay.

Fognini is my favourite... but alas, so rare in Nadal’s half these days...

I love Foggo!

He is full of Italy.

It’s a treat to watch Foggo in Rome!

I don’t care he underachieved, he is a legend.

Oh I love Foggo.

I just love the fact he can turn it on and just blow anyone off the court.

I do and I don't care that he underachieved. Do because that talent warrants a multi-slam champion, but on the overhand would he be Foggo if he wasn't so eccentric and firey?

Are you still peddling this insane fantasy that Nishi-retiring-kori can actually be the best? He's going to outdo Zverev and Shapovalov and Coric and Kyrgios?  Not a prayer.  He's too limited.  Too brainless (coming to the net... What's that?).  Too gutless. He's a total pussy. And he hasn't got the serve.  You've made claims before about him dominating the game.  It's pure delusion.

Also, guess what?  He's now entering the years where players usually fall away.  He's not 21.  His ranking is currently 27.  At this point I've got the same chance of being WN1 as this guy...  ZERO.

Ninja has disappointed us, our hopes and the whole of Japan, waiting for him for last 5 years to do something, he never will do anything, gone.
