Also, I want to point out something else as well.  Whenever federer had a bad patch or wobble, he didn't have a huge grass season to recover points and confidence.  Nadal was dead and buried a year or so ago, but clay is always there.  I hope he chokes on clay one day.  I want this rotten twat OUT.

Congrats naxroy on your man's win.  Cannot say I am happy about it (), but enjoy.  Good to have you around.  Hopefully you will last here through the rest of the year and beyond.

In the end I decided to give this match a miss, which by all accounts was a wise decision.  As BB had said before the tournament, it is a touch annoying that with the year Fed has been having Rafa is both #1 and has had better slam results (two wins plus a final vs two wins plus a QF).

Still, it had been a good year for Fed, he is still three slams ahead of Rafa and they both have one year less to change that than they had this time last year.

It would be nice if Fed could find at least one more slam somewhere.  Personally I feel about 50/50 about it.  His window of opportunity is surely closing fast, but on the other hand some of the game he showed earlier this year should be comfortably good enough for a slam.

Nadal's original path to the USopen was balanced, but everyone in his path kept falling off before facing him. By the 3rd round it looked clear favorite, unless Fed somehow managed to fix his body. That didn't happen.
