Anderson (35) vs Busta (25) - Busta in 5 - Joker
Nadal (10) vs Del Po (40) - Nadal in 4...cause he is going to panick at some stage.

I like what I see with Anderson. He has to play lots of balls but does it well without panicking. He is facing a very solid player though. Quite open so far.

I don't think Busta will have what it takes to stop Nadal. My only hope is that he can do what Djoko does...rally until Nadal tires.

I can't watch this.
This is not even challengers level.
The two can't even produce smooth service games, returning just as bad.
UEs 1m wide...
Travesty of a semi-final.
Organisers deserve nothing better.

I honestly don't think I have ever seen as slow conds as that. Clay could be slower but since there is more sliding on clay, mouvement is not as easy as on a HC.

Agreed.
The height of bounce is crazy.
Kev's serving is tragic, he is so tight he can't breathe.
I can't believe this is a USO SF.
The worst slam I've ever seen.

Nadal is as far back as he is can be.... and yet they still don't do an underarm or short serve. A bit of spin on the serve too... there's just NO WAY nadal could get to it. And he'd be shitting it staying there on serve. Make no mistake about it... Nadal would.

Flukey as FUCK that point for Nadal. But he's unfortunately playing his best ever match of the year... right where you don't want him to. After a total piss easy draw haha.

Re: US open prediction game: men sf
Del Potro gave all the momentum to Nadal early in set 2. And he needs to get it back. He's not serving anywhere near like he was v Fed... his % in has dropped massively. And that's something he really really needs to be rock solid.
Good news is... Federer not being at his best and going out is a blessing. Sure he'd have mixed it up and what not, but Nadal is playing his best match here and it would have been typical Nadal to find Fed off key in their only US Open match.

Re: US open prediction game: men sf
Well, what odds are we giving Anderson? I think he will need to bring his top serving to the match. Del Potro has sadly dropped 3 levels on serve since Federer and that's where he's losing. It's giving all the momentum and confidence to Nadal.
And it was a really promising start too. Nadal was being battered.
What a joke of a draw Nadal has had this year. It was practically the only way he would win this slam again. Federer has had nothing but shit here for years.

I would like to check the stat regarding Nadal's first set history v last set(s). I don;t think I have ever seen a player who struggles so much in the first set compared to the following sets when his opponent tires (or gets bored?). It is such a typical pattern of Road runners tennis. In that tournament alone, Nadal struggled or lost the first set in 4 of his 6 matches.
Even in his H2H v Federer this pattern is more than obvious.
Might be done to nerves as well as superior fitness. I think it is simply both but fitness essentially.

Nadal, 4th final in new york.
3rd slam final of the year.
Well played.
He has now reached at least 4 finals in every slam. not bad for a claycourter

NAdal's best talent must be his ability to entice TD's to favour him in each and every way (balls, courts, draws, schedules ect). The first TD who didn't (Tiriac) got Nadal's boycott on his @ssTenez wrote:Not surprising for a clay courter rather. And I have done a quick check about it...not as precise as I woudl have liked as teh only stat I have is the w/l ratio after losing the first set and not "struggling" in the first set. For instance Nadal struggled (7/5, 7/6 or being a break down or first set loss) in 4 of his 6 matches (66%) but the record will only show 3 1st set losses out of 6 matches (50%).
And in spite of that let me give you example to confirm my point about "fitness" statiscally:
Djoko and Nadal come first with 42%
Murray 3rd with 41%
Federer 40%
other examples:
Ferrer 35%
Stan 34%
Berdych 25%
There is a huge gap between the big 4 and the rest. If anything the oddity here is federer being that high. But when we consider the bo5 record, Federer drops considerably of this "fitness" group. Leaving the RRunners on a league of their own.

Re: US open prediction game: men sf
You don't even watch the matches, Tenez. You gave him no prayer against Federer and you think players are better at 35 than 25. lmao. If you'd have watched the match last night, you might have something worthwhile to say on it. But you didn't. So shut up. Your opinion is worthless when you didn't watch a second of it.
Del Potro totally outplayed Nadal in the first set and had he continued with that approach, he would have won. He didn't lose because he was useless or because Nadal was amazing. He lost because he let Nadal back into it - mostly from his serve level dropping to nothing. His backhand and forehand in set 1 were like the days of old. After set 1, it was all one way traffic. Had he turned up in the same mode that beat Federer, Nadal was going out. The commentators and everyone else noted that Nadal was shitting it.
Also, Delpo brainlessly kept hammering serves when Nadal was 100 miles behind the baseline. Like they all do. Once Nadal got into Delpos head, he raised his game and played the best match he has all year. It's not that surprising, because he is as fresh as a daisy after the easiest draw I have ever known.

You were wrong on Anderson, you were wrong with Fed v Delpo. And you never know, Anderson might actually surprise us all. Who knows?

Com'on...once again, where did I say that?
Regarding Andreson v CB I had little clue who woudl win. I had not see Anderson play thus far. Very different from Nadal v Delpo. Anyone with a bit of knowledge would know Nadal had 95% chance of winning. Just that you keep predicting Nadal's losses at every single match and you boast about it for a year when there is an odd loss which finally makes you right.

@gallery play.
I have no doubt about anything? So why didn' I put a bet on it? I never said Del Potro would win. I said he had a very good chance, esp if he brought the same game he has all tournament. He did have a very good chance,. but after set 1, he didn't bring that game. There is no confusion here whatsoever. You, on the other hand, put him down for a 3 set slaughter? And you said his backhand was virtually non existent. Watch set 1... You'll find that wasn't the case.
You seem to write off players way too easily. You gave Anderson no chance of making the final too, I am guessing? But here he is. The game isn't as rigid as "favorite always wins". Anderson may yet win, despite you giving him 0 chance.
@Tenez I never said you said it. But it's fairly obvious from your posts, especially the ones triumphantly declaring that Federer would much prefer Del Potro. You got it savagely wrong. In your head, a "1 dimensional ball basher" can't beat Federer - except Del Potro is a lot better than you think. Then all you could do was blame a bad back and "broken leg". Give it over.

Re: US open prediction game: men sf
Well you said I did! and now you agree I have not said it ...simply because I did not believe so. So if we want to have a proper conversation, let's keep things simple. I am still right about Federer preferring Delpo. Facing a physical player who had multiple MPs to beat Delpo in 4 sets does not make obvious Delpo was the tougher player. Does it?...Daniel wrote:@gallery play.

To some extend I would have fancied Thiem's chances better versus Nadal. Thiem has power and has beaten Nadal on clay...though I woudl not have given him much more chance than Delpo......just that he woudl have exausted nadal a bit more than Delpo.
