I think Zverev Tiffao might be interesting. Tiffao is a big hitter. Zverev is tall grinder.
Dimi Chung shoudl be interesting too. Potential for an upset though Dimi seems very confident atm.

I won't be able to watch any tennis tomorrow.
Shame because it would've be good to see Chung on the big scene.
I think Dimi will cruise tomorrow, pieces of his game jigsaw are beginning to finally fit together.
He has always been a tricky opponent for Nole and an upset is possible there.
I can even see him make the final.

Istomin is playing well but Djoko does only retrieving...his confidence is so low again.

With Djoko is poor form and killing himself on the court and Murray with a dodgy ankle we have a new winner this year.....or a very old one!

OUT! Djok becomes the latest big seed casualty. Change is upon us. Djok loses 1955 points.

Novak hit 68 winners in the match - 5 more than Istomin. It's the 72 errors that cost him.Tenez wrote:Istomin is playing well but Djoko does only retrieving...his confidence is so low again.
Still, good to see some bloke ranked outside the top 100 outlast Novak in 5 sets eh? He must be the fittest guy on tour?

I knew he was fragile after his first round but certainly did not envisage such result.

I actually think Raonic is closest to win this tournament this year. He will be tough to stop as it is fast and irregular bounces.

Re: Oz open prediction game - Day 4!
Can't see Fed as likely to get past Berdych really, but Murray would be impossible. The roadrunner would be demanding if Federer was in peak match fitness. That said, I bet odds on a Fed / Nadal final have dropped (from 10,000/1 to about 2000/1 probably).Jahu wrote:Fed to take this AO

Very reassuring to see more evidence of Djokovic vulnerability. He really is an awful model of player to have for kids. Unfortunately his successor is even worse.

If conditions fast as Fed said, I'm sure he can beat Berdy.
Andy can't beat Fed, well maybe in 5 sets.

Why do you think so? I think he is just a blunt boring player with poor shots.....but awful not sure.bogbrush wrote:Can't see Fed as likely to get past Berdych really, but Murray would be impossible. Regarding Djoko....going from holding 4 to not retaining one (well last chance is the FO)...it;s a swift fall. Clearly going through some mental issues.

Look at him, 70kg, couple of months ago some magic stone on his neck, got critisized that took off the cross, got the cross back, got rid of Becker, took that Pepe, moved totoally to vegan, herbs, fuck knows what super foods, totally lost, shame that those around him ruined his brain with this crap.
On the other hand, happy to see him off my TV
Come on Fed, Dimi, Stannnnn

Re: Oz open prediction game - Day 4!
Could Nadal win this now? I'm really looking forward to his match with Zverev, as I think the youngster has a great shot. However, if he gets past that, are the likes of Raonic or Dimitrov really going to beat him over 5? I'm unconvinced. I'd make him the favourite to reach the final from the bottom half.

2 games in and already Nadal and Baghdatis have run a high proportion of what Federer did to close out his matches.

The problem with Nadal is that he is trying to play more aggressive, closer to the line....he knows he has no choice but that produces many more UEs.

Yes that's the same thing. Taking the ball early to create space and shorten the points.
He was lucky Baghy missed an easy DTL FH at BP there.

wow Carlos making a huge over rule. I woudl not be surprised if it was to help Nadal. Clearly Carlos had to drop his pants to refering Nadal again.

Nah. Can easily see Nadal trip himself up. Monfils will prove to be a tricky opponent as would Raonic. I don't think he has it in him to make it. Look at previous results since his last Slam victory:
Berdych, Djokovic, Kyrgios, Brown, Fognini, Verdasco. Bar Djokovic, not the mentally strongest field.

Re: Oz open prediction game - Day 4!
,
The court's speed made him even more cautious.
I bet he is kicking himself now for playing daytime slot.
Worst is, he can only blame himself. That's how he lost to Stan at RG, too. Too scared to lose.
Probably was hoping for Istomin to choke.
I hope Dimi makes it in this half of the draw.
I only managed to catch a few games in the 2nd set, I think...Tenez wrote:Istomin is playing well but Djoko does only retrieving...his confidence is so low again.

Re: Oz open prediction game - Day 4!
Just saw all the scores, Nadal stormed oast Baggy, did anyone see that match?
Glad Paire won, I gave up in him.....
And Chung managed to almost bagel adi i in the first set!
I suppose it's Fed-Berd tomorrow, the really big one, they are playing the last evening match.
Fast court should be on Fed's side.
If anyone knows how to move big players around it's him!
I must not get carried away!
