I like Paire's serve. He is playing really well. I knew he would with a bit of winning confidence. At last!

Tsonga I really thought once was a slam contender. But he missed that bus. I can only hope for some upset wins from him now.

I like Tsonga, but can't see him winning a slam, shame because he is better than Cilic who did win it last year.

He relies in his serve too much and is very fragile if it stops.

He could have been a better player with a SBH maybe.

His DBH is not good enough, and doesn't fit in his game.

Well, Federer needed a kind draw and he hasn't had it. He's gonna have to win by going through a nightmare. Isner, Berdych/Gasquet, Wawrinka/Murray, Djokovic/Cilic/Tsonga.

The only way is to outhit him. Tsonga/Cilic may do it if they can hold serve.
Esp if they play in day session as he has had all night matches so far.

Men's semis are played in the day session (on Friday - finally) so yes, that match would be a day session match.

Very hard for either of those two to outhit him. Cilic would have to play as well as he did last year.

Tsonga beat him in Toronto last year, though Nole was terrible post Wimbledon/ wedding etc.
I don't think Cilic ever beat him but was very close in Wimbledon 2014. This looks faster than Wimbledon.

Rooting for Agut but finding the spectacle - why high quality - also quite boring. It is like watching two Noles playing each other.

To me he looks the same as ever. His shots have never been fast, more heavy.
In fact, the best ones are spinny, angled CC ones on both wings.

These rackets do all the work. Never seen anything like it. Tons of down the line shots at pace and all Novak has to do is a pansy little flick. That shouldn't be the case. Agut does not have a very good first serve, which doesn't help.

It's not just the racquet but fast legs. Must feel claustophobic for the opponent who is trying to put the ball away.
But despite all, I think Gutty had the game to beat Nole last night, just ran out of steam.

Those long rallies are there for a reason.

Technology in equipment science can't be stopped. It hold for everything and not just sports. And not that Agut doesn't have access to those kind of racquets or a very old player who learnt tennis using a totally outdated racquet.

Beating Djokovic requires better shotmaking, more innovation in game. Agut fails on parameters. He did well to take a set, but that was as far as he could go.
