I am hoping for a kind of Miami 05 final or Wimby 07. If the referee keeps the time between points Nadal may be running out of gas eventually. His shorts will become shorter and more erratic....and that will allow an even tired Federer to save lots of energy.

He'll reset himself.

He was in control of that first set and then this set is a prime example of then losing that control and building pressure on himself that he didn't need to do. He laid down the marker in the first set and should've let Nadal find the answers instead of providing them for him himself.

I agree NAdal does not look too fit today. Dimi would have outlasted him today.

It's not played on anyone's terms... It's basically just Federer getting nervous and making mistakes. We saw it against Djok too. It's hard to believe but Federer's greatest weakness appears to be that he gets mental demons against players who had had big wins against him. No doubt Del Potro would be in his head too.

totally agree,this is the same pattern we see from roger when he plays nadal every time
he has already mentally lost this match

He's thrown this set away big time. He needs to regroup and forget it. But will he? It will be the first time in his career that he has if he does. History suggests more bottling now and Nadal just keeping it in play waiting for a mistake. Federer doesn't deserve to win if he carries on like this.
