This match today only lasted a set really. ...not even that actually; It was only close the second half of the first set!

I expect a result like this, but i didn't expect Nadal to give in this easy.
I guess he stopped believing from the moment he saw the draw. It definitly wasn't only physical.

Very boring match, not even suspenseful - and the end of an era. I kinda doubt the new one will be any better though.

Nadal will be No. 10 now, won't get a bye for MS1000 and will be No. 11 even, should Tsonga make the final.

I really believe the 25s rule is what has killed his hope of doing well. It's so vital for him.

But very similar to how federer started in 06, 07(had he converted his 11BPs) or 11. Easy start cause fresh but as soon as there were asked to cover a few yards, the precision of the shots went down and they are left with slugging it out......except that Djoko can run the mile, Fed coudl not.

Nadal looked completely drained of energy, don't know how anybody could possibly say it wasn't physical for him. 

As for possible reasons - maybe his drugs don't work as well anymore, maybe his regime had to get lighter because of testing. Who knows? But that wasn't AO 09/12 Nadal.

Murray breaks. Can't believe the impact mauresmo has had on his game.

Tsonga and the crowd can do it too. Especially if Djoko feels the pressure of winning the FO for the first time....and has been drained by Murray!

All that will work for Stan as well as the Parisian crowd will like Stan!

That was very nice indeed.  Nole did not even play all that great.  If he had not stumbled in the first set, the scoreline there should have been more like the other two sets.

Nadal apparently practiced badly this morning, and he did not play a good match at all.

Credit to Djokovic, he played very well and deserves to go through.

I thought Nadals returning was very poor today. Just setups for the rally. You can't do that against Djoko.

I think Nole will have to play better than today to beat Andy.  Nole was very nervous I thought and that showed in the quality of his play.  I suspect he may still be nervous on Friday - especially if Andy keeps it close early on.

This is a more exiting match than the one on Chartier.

I did not want an exciting match on Chartier. The one we had suited me just fine.

yes and no. I would have liked a 5 hour battle with Djoko winning in the end.

Nadal is done. I can't see him getting past Nole in a big match anymore, and probably not even Murray...  and so goes his fans hope of a legitimate Goat claim as well..

Now we will see if his fans were right that claimed Nadal has so much talent he could adapt if the conditions or times weren't perfect for him.  Can he come up with a new "game", a real change that will make him a threat on any surface other than clay?

As far as his stamina issues, I'll refer everyone back to what I said in January when I saw his hair was falling out in clumps and he looked a wreck--   all the years of not cycling down properly, of using new drugs that weren't detectable created a toxic shock effect.  Anyone who's seen it before, can see his body was rejecting the abuse.  No one balds in that type pattern- it's like chemo-  falling out all over.  this Nadal we see now is one who is off his regimen that made him who he was--  or certainly in a reduced regimen.

The Ferrer-Murray match is more physical. It's played with much more pace.

Nadal just pretended he believed but he wasn't confident in anything he did out there

Agreed. The first QF was not all that physical at all. I was surprised how easily Rafa went down. I thought he would lose but I also thought he would give Nole better fight. Nole was just destroying him.

Nadal certainly did not play well after he realised that his best tennis in patches woudl not even be good enough to beat average Djoko. That is actually a fact.

What I noticed again is that When Nadal stretched him in the first set, Nole started to shorten the points but after too much running those UEs started to pour in and allowed nadal to come back.

It means that Djoko will feel it if he is being asked to run. All the other remaining players bar Ferrer maybe can make Djoko run.

..but don't you find sad that even against Ferrer, Murray is the one defending. I wish the winner of that final would get fresh for that semi. ain't gonna happen now.

I quite like Ferrer but Murray will certainly be a tougher opponent than Ferrer so it's a good outcome.

I hope Murray will be able to step up to the task. I want a very long and tough fight as my preferred players are on the other side.

Tsonga with a chance to push Nadal out of the top 10....for the first time in ....10 years!

I hope it doesn't happen as I want Stan to win the tournament!
