I think Berdych might fall today... Hewitt likes playing at USopen and Berdy is in poor form.

I have officially given up on Hewitt last Wimbledon. I think he lost to JJ in 5 sets and the match was played over two days, I remember him he ruining my picks for that day!
Aussie fans made so much noise they disturbed Chardy-Strak match I was watching in the neighbouring court.

I find USO dragging round one out over three days unnecessary. Day 3 feels so flat compared to 1&2.

I trust in the Berdych streak of losing one 1R match in a slam every year.  So far he made it to at least 4R (?) in every slam.

I must admit, I don't trust it a lot and I have also lost faith in Hewitt after his poor performances so far, but it's 6 points for Berdych in poor form and there is a chance to 33.  Come on, Hewitt!!!

Dimi v Harrison should have been a nice guess on MOTD. I know Dimis favourite but I think it shoudl be a close match as Harrison is keen to prove he is on his way back and a promising youngster.

Still catching up at work 10 days after returning from vacation

But I have been trying to keep an eye on the tournament as much as possible; mostly happy with the results so far, but I have not actually seen much of the action.

Out of the blue, Stan just gets broken early in the third.

Wow, Stan blew up this set - just like that he is down 1:5.  I jinxed him with my "he will cruise this" statement.

Error-fest this set.

Stan broken to love to go down 1:2 in the 4th.  I only started watching in the 3rd set, but I am assuming he must have been playing better than now - it is just an error after error from him.  Bellucci can hit the ball, but that is no excuse for Stan's play.

Stan.. he just can't keep concentration for long durations... loses focus.. He was pulsating the the first 2 sets, then only upto 4th game in the 3rd where he started spraying UEs...

come on stan... just focus..

Stan breaks back - mostly thanks to some errors from Bellucci

That was a good service game, finally.

Stan is playing much better now.

Stan finally takes the match - he did raise his level as the 4th set went on.

That's the most relaxed state of mind for some of us. Almost all Fed fans do warm up to Wawrinka as well.

To me yesterday's order of play was no different than Memphis. I didn't see anything. Hence my earlier comment about USO stretching round one over 3 days - it simply ran out of players worth staying up to watch.

fair point! I agree it's so frustrating trying to milk in on Dimi....who had never got past the 1st round of USO before yesterday,

Berdych looked improved in the match vs. Hewitt; he could tee off on these slow paced shots he was getting - awesome, easy looking power. Still a lot of errors there. Plus I don't like his legs, what do you have to do to get such legs and how can you move 2hrs + with them? These big muscles must need an awful lot of oxygene. Oh well...

Wawrinka - as erratic as ever. Awesome power again, however inconsistent, he is a very dangerous opponent for anyone. He got a bit lucky that his opponent seemed to run out of gass during the fourth set, else a fifth set would have been very possible.

Got unlucky with my Dodig prediction who managed to injure himself in his first match. Tough luck!

yes...good questions.....Berdych is probably one of those players who voted for Rafa's only fairest player of the year title in 2010.

Yes he was pretty good actually. certainly more consistent than Harrison.
