Re: They do sound pretty credible...
I agree the part that all names must be disclosed even if the blood bags are no longer there. Otherwise it will feel like many athletes would have got away with cheating.
I agree the large part maybe the ATP investing some of the prize money into further and stricter testing.

Re: They do sound pretty credible...
I think they can afford to say that cause the doping methods are so good now that they are simply untraceable.
I find it staggering that Murray, the most physical player out there in terms of muscle mass/stamina, can simply express his concern of other players cheating.
This is a perfect circus act....which we have heard so many times from past athletes-turned-dopers.

Given that he hasn't had any real imcriminating situations, I tend to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Paula Radcliffe always famously blew her trumpet about being clean and the first one to be tested. She was clean

Yes but we know it doesn't mean anything. As LA says "we were all at it!" What's happening now I believe is that teh legal side can make dodgy practices clean and legal. This is where the confidence comes from I believe.legendkillar wrote:Given that he hasn't had any real imcriminating situations, I tend to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Because we know for sure that those guys do not have the same physiology as us.

Re: They do sound pretty credible...
I have a friend who has a brother and they are almost a replica of Murray brothers.
They are both sporty, but one pumped himself with steroids to get the "look" while the other one remained lean.
Now if Murray piled on all those 6 kgs of muscle in 2010 off season by using steroids (how else can you don it in 3-4 weeks), was that legal?
If not, how do they get tested for it and how long do those steroids stay in the body after making it look like it does now?
Can you build the body with steroids and then maintain the muscle mass without them?

Don't know unfortunately. Just watching the rugby players nowadays it's so clear they are all under steroids too and the scary thing is that it's clear they are using things that cannot be traced.noleisthebest wrote:

Re: They do sound pretty credible...
Strange thing about Murray is that although he has gained a bit of strength with all those muscles, he hasn't improved his stamina.
He looks a very artificial experiment both the way he looks and plays now.
You can't blame him for trying, just that the whole "product" is so off-putting.
Well, for me, at least.

Re: They do sound pretty credible...
Well we know that muscle mass and stamina don't mix well...so considering how big he is, he is doing pretty well stamina wise too.
Nadal had the best musle/stamina ratio on the tour...but now I think Murray has probably taken over......and your man a close 3rd. What he does get in muscles is certainly made up in stamina!

Re: They do sound pretty credible...
I'm not sure Murray's overtaken Nadal with stamina. "Best" case scenario he may outlast him on faster hard courts, but never on clay.
I think Novak's stamina is right up there with Federer's and better only for the age gap between them.
I really look forward to clay season, the proper one, not these 2 joke little tournaments Nadal's playing from behind the sofa.

I meant on the muscles/stamina ratio. I am pretty sure Murray is bigger than Nadal so he cannot be as stamina efficient as Nadal. BUt they must be on teh same thing.noleisthebest wrote:I'm not sure Murray's overtaken Nadal with stamina. "Best" case scenario he may outlast him on faster hard courts, but never on clay.
Nah...Federer was never that good. You cannot compare the best record of 5 setters in the history of tennis (especially with a record made in today's most physical era) with the one ranked number 100 or so! It's like comparing Federer's record with Stepanek's! C'mon NITB this is a serious forum!I think Novak's stamina is right up there with Federer's and better only for the
age gap between them.

Fed's stamina is excellent. I can't believe you are oblivious to it.

Re: They do sound pretty credible...
It's not bad...but considering he is one of the most energy efficient player on tour, it is normal he is going to last more. He hits all his shots with great timing requiring minmum effort so he can last quite a bit...but despite that he is number 100 in terms of 5 setter record!!! and yet the best in TBs meaning he can play importnat points very well...so clearly it is a stamina issue.
And what is also bizarre is that he makes his opponent run more than he does the running himself so in theory he shoudl have a very good good 5 setter record....yet he has a pretty poor one!
He is not in the same league as Nadal and Djoko stamina wise......clearly that's non arguable.

Re: They do sound pretty credible...
Nadal and Djokovic overtake him in the road-running stamina department, each in their own unique way.
Nadal definitely wastes the most energy of the three.
Watching Federer and Novak in last year's WTF final, Fed has a pretty imposing physical presence with the way he plays.
It's those phenomenal legs that kept Novak in that match.
That's why I think Murray has no chance against fresh Federer.
Nadal....what he has for breakfast to fuel that left arm I don't know.....

Who said that gem?"Sport has to be
clean. Should I be certain that my opponent is just as clean
as me. Hopefully that tennis remains as clean as it has been
throughout its history, "he replied on the sampling that has been submitted by
the ATP during recovery. "That will take all necessary," he
added.

the cookie monster? I find this very hypocritical, as he was recently caught on camera injecting cookie dough into his already very doughy physique.

When they talk like that it's for the woofie and amri. They know some will believe him and it gives them courage to say it with a straight face.
Has he asked for that Fuentes 200 athletes list to be released?
